  • Selleck was born in Detroit, MI, but grew up in California.

  • Selleck loves the outdoors.
  • Selleck was offered the lead role in Raiders of the Lost Ark, but had to decline due to contractual obligations on Magnum, P.I.
  • Selleck was also offered the lead role in the television series Baywatch. He turned that down because he was reluctant to get typecast as a sex symbol. Quite ironic given his image as Thomas Magnum!

  • His recurring character Jesse Stone is based on a series of novels by Robert Parker. Parker’s best known creation is the private detective Spenser.

He did not serve any jail time after he agreed to appear in several public service advertisements, leveraging his fame.
  • Wahlberg, like Selleck, has been married twice. He was married to his first wife, Kimberley Fey, from 1999 to 2008. He has been married to Jennie McCarthy since 2014.
  • His earliest serious acting excursion saw him working alongside Mickey Rourke and Tupac Shakur.
  • Wahlberg has shown an affinity for a more gruesome genre, appearing in several of the gory Saw films.
