Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 2 Episode 3: Inca Mummy Girl
This episode is a bit touchy-feely, and the mummy girl is beautiful, but overall it makes no sense at all. If the the sarcophagus was being watched and protected for centuries, why was it ever allowed to leave the original country and be put on display in the first place? What are the odds of getting an exchange student from the same area as the mummy? Several million to one? The whole episode is one big abuse of the suspense of disbelief. I think we're supposed to feel bad for the mummy girl..and a small part of me does, but not that much. Maybe if they hadn't introduced us to her and killed her in the same episode. Which is kind of a problem for all the self-contained episodes of the show. It's just hard to care when you just met the character and know they won't be around long. Do feel a bit bad for Xander. And also wonder what the odds are of one single Sunnydale teen guy having a brief fling with every single female monster that comes to town. At least the guy monsters are spread between a few girls. So, in short, not a very good or important episode.
