Miracle on 34th Street
Miracle on 34th Street is quite possibly one of the best-loved classic Christmas movies of all time. It released in 1947 and has since become one of the staples in holiday movie selections.
This movie is known for its use of Macy's department store as its premise. Kris Kringle has seemingly gone rogue, when he begins sending customers to competing department stores when Macy's doesn't have the items they want to purchase. His increasing weird behavior creates a stir, and leads to a rumor that maybe he has lost his mind.
The movie's theme is based on Kris Kringle, and whether or not there really is such a thing as Santa Claus. This is a great family movie that can be shared and enjoyed by all. (Watch a clip from the movie to the right.)

It's A Wonderful Life
It's a Wonderful Life is another movie from the 1940s. This all-time classic Christmas movie is played on many networks throughout the holidays, and some even broadcast it on Christmas Eve night.
In It's A Wonderful Life, George Bailey is a man down on his luck. He has everything he could want--a loving wife, beautiful children, and the (broken down) home of his dreams. But everything suddenly falls apart when his absent-minded uncle makes a mistake that sends George over the edge. George is depressed, and decides to commit suicide so the insurance will cover all his debts, but an angel steps in and saves him.
This wonderful Christmas tale is heartwarming for several reasons, but most of all because it shows that hope can be restored, even to those who are most despondent. It has a feel-good theme and is one that you will enjoy watching with your family for years to come.
