Casting Crowns burst onto the Christian music scene in the fall of 2003 with the self-titled debut album Casting Crowns. This powerful group of musicians, led by singer-songwriter Mark Hall, took the Christian music airwaves by storm with one hit after another that seemed to strike a chord in the hearts of people like no other Christian artist had previously done. The  songs have sharp messages that cause even the strongest Christians to take notice of spiritual truths about life that are often overlooked or totally neglected. The songs hit close to home for many people and Casting Crowns will forever be one of the greatest contemporary Christian albums of all time.

Casting Crowns Song List

What If His People Prayed – 3:28

This song is a call to Christian action. Too many Christians are “hearers of the Word, but not doers!” Satan is just having his way as the saints sit by and allow him to rob them of their freedom in Christ. The world cares more about what Oprah has to say than what God’s Word has to say.

If We Are the Body – 3:59

God is not a respecter of persons and neither should Christians be. A person’s worth comes from that fact that Jesus willingly gave His life so that all would have the opportunity to know him. To show favoritism or look down on others is sin. As the body of Christ, Christians should reach out to those in physical and spiritual need.

The Voice of Truth – 5:25

Christians simply allow Satan to defeat them sometimes because they fail to give God the chance to work on their behalf. When we try to accomplish things on our own, we are bound to fail, but with God all things are possible.

Who Am I – 5:36

It is a good thing to realize the awesomeness of our God. We are but a speck, a vapor in the span of time, but God knew us and loved us enough to make a way for us to be reconciled with Him. Not because of any merit on our part, but simply because He loved us that much.

American Dream – 4:12

In this life we tend to work the hardest for the things that ultimately mean nothing. Power, prestige, money and possessions are all temporary and mean nothing once we leave this world. The important things go neglected like family, friends and God, and all too often we don’t realize how important they really are until its too late.

Here I Go Again – 4:45

We are all going to die one day, and we all know others who need God’s saving grace before it’s too late. Yet, we have such a hard time telling even our best friends about the love of Jesus, and we are guilty of letting them march on towards life’s end without having the opportunity to know Him.

Praise You With the Dance – 3:57

The Bible tells us that King David danced for God in praise and we should be so willing. Christians should praise God with every ounce and fiber of their body as nothing less is sufficient for the One who is our provision.

Glory – 5:07

More praise for the God of the Universe - the One who is truly in charge of this world. We give God all of the glory and praise, Alleluia.

Life of Praise – 3:19

You are awesome, God of the Nations, Lion of Judah, Rock of the Ages, Alpha, Omega. You are worthy of all praise. You are worthy of so much more!

Your Love is Extravagant – 3:53

Spread wide in the arms of Christ, there is a love that covers sin. No greater love have we ever known. God’s love truly is extravagant.

Hear the Powerful Message

The greatest love that we can have is a love of God our father, and these Casting Crowns songs have a powerful message that reminds us of that love each time we hear them. If you’ve never listened to these songs before, I urge you to take this opportunity to hear them and let the love of God stir your heart in a special way.
