Celebrities that QUIT smoking cigarettes

Updated on November 25, 2012

I never thought of celebrities smoking until I saw a picture of Rihanna recently somewhere and she looked pretty hot, especially with the cigarette, (look at what society has done to me and the way I think!) and then today--as I was browsing online on different ways to quit smoking I came across some pages that talked about some of the ways celebrities quit. For some reason, since I am a smoker myself, and I find it peculiar that I think like this, but, obviously I think of smoking, as disgusting, off-putting and just plain old nasty. I mean we all know it is, but us smokers, we still smoke. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with us?!

The funny part about me is that, yes I smoke, but my job does NOT know and I would freak out if anyone from my workplace every saw me smoking. I'm the innocent young girl there, or at least that's the image I'd like to keep. I am also the youngest at my job, most of my co-workers are over 45. I'm 25. Soooo, I'd never want anyone to know this little secret, and I hide it well. I do not smoke all day when I'm at work, and I try not to have one before going in but that doesn't always work out as planned. I definitely spray the crap out of myself before I go in, and it must be helping because every time I go in I get compliments on how good I smell. (Imagine they were all really being sarcastic?! lol)

I read a couple of websites and here are some names off the top of my head that I remember: Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Ashton Kutcher, Kate Moss and Ben Affleck. I mean obviously I'm not making it a big deal that they were once smokers, but it is interesting to see that even these celebrities with all the money they have, had a hard time to kick this disgusting addiction. Jennifer Aniston apparently tried quitting twice with the second time being final up until now due to her pregnancy. The first time she did some hardcore yoga and it did help, but she still would slip on occasion. Brad Pitt quit as well now that he's with Angelina Jolie, most likely because Angelina does not like smoking and secondly, because of their kids of course. It seems to be the main reason people quit, because of having children, which is very understandable and goes to show how love for your children can make you do anything. Kate Moss quit so it can be easier for her to conceive, especially since she is a little older so it is already difficult to conceive when you're older. Benn Affleck also quit due to a baby coming. Ashton Kutcher on the other hand, I believe quit because Demi Moore told him to read a book called "The easy way to stop smoking", by Allen Carr. It's a self-help book and apparently it works. But who knows since I see from some pictures that Mila Kunis may be a smoker, and since they're together now, maybe he picked up the habit again!
