Comedienne Mo'nique "Coulda Been Your Cellmate"

Updated on April 25, 2011

Freedom of Laughter in a Women's Prison

You gotta love YouTube when you are bored and looking for something to pass the time with. As I searched around for something to watch, I came across this stand-up video of famous Precious actress and comedienne, Mo'nique, who gained fame as Nicole Parker in the UPN television series The Parkers. The video is titled "I Coulda Been Your Cellmate." Mo'nique decided to shoot the video for this stand-up show in prison, literally.

Mo'nique is an empowerer of women and opted to bring a few hours of laughter and joy to women that are sentenced to years, if not life, in prison.

Not only is this comedy at its best, but it also brings compassion and a few tears to your eyes seeing those women of all ages, skin color and walks of life forgetting their convictions for one day and letting their smiles take over their faces.

Below is the link. Enjoy it as I have and pass it on!
