Criminal Minds Cast
Criminal Minds Cast Over The Years
Criminal Minds has been a favorite of mine since the very beginning and over the last twelve seasons and there have been a few cast members who have been there since the very beginning however over the years we have seen BAU agents come and go. Some seem to have just walked away from the hit show while others leaving caused panic by the faithful Criminal Minds viewers. During this particular Hubpage we are going to only look at former agents who had appeared on the show for at least ten episodes so no guest stars here. Lets get this going
Matthew Gray Gubler AKa Spencer Reid
Matthew Gray Gubler has been playing the role of Doctor Spencer Reid since the very beginning of season one. Dr. Spencer Reid the brilliant agent who may have had the most rocky ride of any Criminal Mind cast member over the last twelve seasons.
Matthew Gray Gubler has not only acted on Criminal Minds he has also directed ten episodes as well. The former model has not done a whole in terms of film work outside of Criminal Minds. For long term fans of the shows the real reason Spencer Reid was using a cane for almost a whole season is that he dislocated his knee while dancing which required multiple surgeries
Kirsten Vangsness aka Penelope Garcia
Kirsten Vangsness who has played the role of super hacker Penelope Garcia since season one is another fan favorite and original cast member. Penelope Garcia who was once a top hacker was hired by the FBI for her skills instead of sending her to prison.
Kirsten Vangsness began her acting career on the stage where she won multiple awards
Thomas Gibson AKA Aaron Hotchner
One of the series originals Thomas Gibson who played Aaron Hotchner suddenly left Criminal Minds during the twelfth season after it was alleged he attacked a writer on the show. Thomas Gibson apparently was not the easiest guy to deal with on set. The character Aaron Hotchner is in Witness Protection with his son and I doubt we will ever see him again
Thomas Gibson has spent the majority of his career on television and out side of Criminal Minds he is best known for his role on Dharma and Greg and for his role on Chicago Hope

Off screen A.J Cook has had two children with her husband during the last twelve years and when she was taken off the show it was normally because of this reason. One of the original characters of Criminal Minds was Jason Gideon played by seasoned actor Mandy Patinkin during the first two seasons. We would learn in a later season that Gideon was murdered by a serial killer.

Lola Glaudini aka Ella Greenaway
Lola Glaudini the woman behind the original cast member Ella Greenaway was a popular character in the beginning. Unfortunately for fans Ella Greenaway would leave during the second season after she shot an unarmed suspect and being confronted by unit chief Aaron Hotchner. Ella chose to walk away from the BAU and admitted having no regret in killing the suspect.
