Daily Weird #9 (Kids get preview of playboy channel)

Updated on April 22, 2011

Playboy Bunnies for Toddlers?

They say the early bird gets the worm; apparently the early bird also gets an eyeful of tata’s, and hooters, and knockers, and melons, and well, you get the picture.

If you live in Cary, NC and were up watching cartoons with your kid between 6:15 and 8:15 in the morning on March 17, there’s a good chance you were the early bird seeing the hoo-hoos.

Typically, when the youngsters are taking in their early morning dose of cartoons, in the upper corner there’s a preview box to let the kids know what kind of exciting show is coming up next, or later, on their channel. Not so much on this morning. Kids watching Preschool on Demand, and Kids on Demand were treated to previews of shows coming up on the Playboy Channel.

Time Warner is apologizing for the glitch that overrode all parental controls and turned Sesame Street into Sesame Street Walker. While this happened back in March of this year, and there have been no repeat occurrences since that day, studies of the area by local moms have shown that since the Playboy preview fathers have been more involved in monitoring their children’s television activity.

Ok, I made that last part up. Time Warner- helping mothers everywhere, or at least in Cary, NC.

Qudsia- you are so right. I was completely ripped when I wrote this. I was so sick of people thinking "I'm sorry" made it better no matter what you did, kind of like a free pass. I didn't get a free pass growing up, even if I really was sorry. If I did something rotten I was punished... and I learned.

I was also tired of people getting their panties in a wad over nothing and demanding an apology. How stupid is that. If a person is really sorry, they apologize without being forced to, a forced apology isn't one at all. I also was ripped at the people who caved and apologized when they shouldn't have.

Useless for sure! (as you can see, years later, I'm still on my soap box!)

Ah how they deliberately corrupt and say sorry later.

Sorry is such a useless word. It is just about thrown as much as the word, 'love'.

In a previous life I was chaperoning a group of eighth grade students in DC. One of the boys rooms alerted me to the fact that the porn channels had not been switched off as agreed with the hotel in question. I walked into one of the other boys rooms and switched from the cartoon they were watching, to the adult channels to check, and lo and behold wiley coyote became a steamy threesome. I turned around to the dropped jaws and bemused smiles of the boys, who responded with a hearty "Way to go, Mr. L!"

      So...mistakes can happen.
