Did You Know Dear John Is On Netflix?

Dear John was a 2010 drama-romantic-war film, starring Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum. It was based on the 2006 Nicolas Sparks novel of the same name. The movie was filmed in Charleston, South Carolina.

The movie is about a soldier, John Tyee (Channing Tatum), falling in love with a young woman, Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried), before being deployed into war. The two lovers write letters back and forward to each other.

Here‘s something I noticed as I was watching the movie. In the movie Alan is Tim’s son but in the book Alan is Tim’s brother. So the movie changed something. However, Alan and John’s father both still have autism like they did in the book.

Anyway, it was a really good book and it’s still a good movie so it’s worth watching. I first discovered a Nicholas Sparks book in 2019 when I read the Lucky One by Sparks but my first Sparks movie that I saw was A Walk To Remember when I was younger.
