Dolphin tale review and facts you may not know

Updated on January 21, 2012

The story

Dolphin tale was a wonderful and uplifting movie that will bring anyone to tears. I had the opportunity to see the movie in 3D and it was outstanding. The movie is based on a real incident with a dolphin named Winter who was caught in a crab trap. A little boy names Sawyer cuts the rope from the dolphins tail, in which the rope had been tangle on. A rescue squad is called and Winter is taking to a shelter in which she could be taken care of. Since Winter is not able to move her tail due to a serious infection, Dr. Clay Hasket ( Harry Connick jr) then has to amputate the dolphins tale. Winter then must learn to swim without one, but in the process causes her more damage. Sawyer then contacts Dr. Cameron McCarthy who is played by Morgan Freeman to try and make the dolphin a prosthetic tail. Using silicon and gel, Winter struggles to adapt to her new tail. Sawyer then realizes that the prosthetic tail the sleeve was uncomfortable and causing irritation. Towards the end they hold a fundraiser to try and save the facility that shelters the mammals. This movie is inspiring and must off all a great master piece to add to your collection.

A fun fact maybe you did not know!

At the end of the movie, the little boy Sawyer jumps in the water in a blue shirt. When he rises from the water he is wearing a blue shirt with black sleeves.
