Emmy Clarke was born on 25 September 1991. She got her name, Emmy, from the initials of her first and middle name - Mary Elizabeth.
Her first acting role was in the 2003 award-winning feature film My House in Umbria, for which she won a Young Artist Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2004.
More recently she has had a regular role on the critically acclaimed USA Network series Monk as Julie Teeger. She also appeared as Grace Arbus opposite Nicole Kidman in feature film Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus.
In her spare time, Emmy enjoys sailing, writing and art. She currently resides with her family in Connecticut.
