Did You Enter The Elton John Video Contest?

A global search for creative talent, did you enter the Elton John video contest for the chance to create the official music video for the songs Benny and the Jets, Tiny Dancer, and Rocket Man? These songs did not have official videos. The videos will be supported by YouTube!

Wow, what a chance for new filmmakers to create the official music videos for an Elton John classic. Plus, there's $10,000 on the table. Gee, I wish I was in the music business, what an opportunity of a life time! If I could do a video, it would be about my favorite song by Elton John, Benny and The Jets.

I don't know when they'll announce the winners but I do know the deadline was on 1/23/17. The Today Show made a video for this occasion, I thought it was pretty cool and a bit on the humorous side. I loved the costumes, the anchors of the Today Show really showed their creativity. In case you didn't see it, I'll post it below this capsule.

The video will not be submitted.

Elton John and David

Elton John and David Furnish met in October 1993 and fell in love. No matter where they are in the world, they sent their love to each other via of a card every Saturday for the last 16 years. The two lovers were married shortly after the legislation was passed in their country for same sex marriage.

This is what Sir Elton posted on his Instagram page: "Sir Elton John and David Furnish request the pleasure of your company to celebrate their wedding on Sunday, the 21st of December to share in the joy." It was a small ceremony held at the Guildhall in Windsor, Berkshire with only the couple's parents on Dec. 21, 2005

It's a creative way to spark interest in a classic song and replace those lyrics videos with some creative ones. Love the idea!

Videos entered in the contest had to use the original music and produce a video. The songs listed in my hub don't have videos.
