Kimberly Sue Yap Chiu, or Kim Chiu is a famous Chinese-Filipina actress, recording star, product endorser and image model. She was born on the 19th of April, 1990 in Xiamen, China but was raised in Cebu City, Philippines. She auditioned for the first season of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition and was proclaimed as the first ever Big Teen Winner. She gained a lot of fans because of her talents and bubbly personality. During the early days inside the house, she was linked with Atenean Mikee Lee but eventually fell for her constant companion Gerald Anderson. It was the moment when the "Kimerald" loveteam was born.

Due to the popularity of the Gerald Anderson - Kim Chiu loveteam, ABS-CBN chose them to be the first pair to be featured in "Lovespell Presents: My Boy, My Girl". Their skills in comedy where also enhanced in the late night saturday sitcom "Aalog-Alog". She became one of the regular hosts of ASAP.

Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu starred in their first soap opera in primetime through "Sana Maulit Muli" (Chances) which did well in the ratings. It was a proof that their loveteam has a huge fan base. The said series has been dubbed in Mandarin since it was shown in Taiwan. It is also set to be shown in Cambodia and other Asian Countries.

The two teen stars appeared in three more seasons of Love Spell and played supporting roles in Sineserye Presents : Maligno.

Today, Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu are playing the roles of Julian and Jasmine in the Philippine TV version of the Korean romantic-comedy show "My Girl".

In September 2006, Kim Chiu together with Gerald Anderson were introduced in the movie "First Day High" where she represented the "Brainy High" and consistently wore yellow clothes. Later on, Star Cinema trusted KIMERALD with their own movie entitled "I've Fallen For You" which did well in the box-office.

She was constantly compared to Sandara Park, a once popular korean actress in the Philippines. Kim Chiu was a fan of Sandara Park since she entered showbiz years before she did. A lot of people believed that Kim Chiu grabbed the projects intended for Sandara Park that's why the latter decided to go back to Korea and pursue a showbiz career in her homeland.

In 2007, Kim Chiu released her debut album under sta Records entitled "Gwa Ai Di" which features the songs Trying, Peng Yu (Tagalog Version), The Moon Represent My Heart, Hearbreak Song, I've Fallen For You (ft. Gerald Anderson) and the smash hit "Crazy Love". She won two awards from iFM Pinoy Music Awards 2008 (Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "Crazy love" and Song of The Year "Crazy Love"). She is set to release her sophomore album.
