I'm Dreaming of a place so far away
I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming of a place so far away
Somewhere we can take our sweet escape
I'm dreaming, yes I'm dreaming, and I'm dreaming of a place
Pacific Dub you know we're striving to create a better world
Yes it starts one by one every boy and every girl
Yeah the youth is on the rise, and the youth is on the run
We've got to stop all the violence and the shootings of the guns
I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming of a place so far away
Somewhere we can take our sweet escape
I'm dreaming, yes I'm dreaming, and I'm dreaming of
I'm dreaming of a place where we can live without the hate
Where unity is key and we no longer have to wait
For peace and all our warriors to be brought home unarmed
So we can go on living with our lives so charmed
With a bang bang, boom people killing people dying
Got to use all of my force to stop these children from their crying
We're on the fast track to make this world a place that I can't bear
With my music and my lyrics gonna make a place where
Everyday's a new day with a sunset on the beach
Got to teach our little children, teach them of loving and peace
Love and peace
I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming of a place so far away
Somewhere we can take our sweet escape
Yes I'm dreaming, and I'm dreaming, yes I'm dreaming of a place
I enjoy creating meaningful hubs. My favorite ones to create consist of depth of message supplemented with quotes, clips and music to exact the tone of my point of view. So when my 19 year old daughter told me she was going to a concert to see a band, I expressed interest as well as a perfunctory caution because it was in the city. The “hold on loosely” theory doesn't preclude intense worry I assure you.
I asked her when she returned “how was the show?” Instead of getting the non response I was expecting, I got “It was really amazing… I had such a blast”…and it went on for much longer than usual. In fact she wanted to travel 50 miles to the city south to see them again. Can I get an Oye Vey? So she did, same results, she had an excellent time.
Now, as I’ve expressed, I believe music has a straight shot to the soul; it has the ability to move us where mere words often cannot. When combined with the proper lyrics, heaven does exist on this very earth. Time is a deceptive enigma my friends. Fore I heard this beautiful music playing over and over as my sweet little girl, innocent child o’ mine, got ready for work… and I loved the sound. So I asked, as I disingenuously often do, who does that song?
“Pacific Dub and the name of the song is ‘Dreaming’. It’s the band I told you I was seeing!” My darling little girl filled me in on more of the details my heart or non grayed hair could stand… then left in a hurry to work, fore the details of her life made her departure too close to being on time.
Then, I followed along to the song and lyrics and my heart and soul wept. Yes, that’s what I’ve been trying to achieve, but thought I’d had failed. I thought the dream of peace would be lost when my ashes would turn to ashes…and then dust to dust. The dream of the next generation is alive and shall be long after my demise; and that my friends, well, it’s a good thing.
I enjoy creating meaningful hubs. My favorite ones to create consist of depth of message. Yet sometimes the simply expression of telling a story does the trick.
Fore just as every generation before ours believes in their children’s future…our children must go it alone, for their children’s future… God is indeed a funny guy…
