Green Book Movie
Green Book Movie
The movie is based on the true-life events of Dr. Donald Shirley (Mahershala Ali), and Tony Vallelonga(Viggo Mortensen)
I watched the movie Green Book and understood why most people don’t like this movie. Black communities faced horrific experiences in the nineteen fifties, and most would think this is a terrible movie.
In the beginning of the movie, it shows Tony Lip reforming from a change in his lifestyle. He was unemployed had a wife and kids to take care of, and not enough money to pay the rent.
Tony Lip had a different mind about black people.
He needed to change his mind about black people to get further in employment. Unfortunately, Tony Lip didn’t accept black people in his life. He threw out two drinking glasses into the dustbin after two black men drank out of these glasses.
It did not feel right for someone to have such an attitude toward these actions. In the movie, Tony Lip had to grow to accept black people. However, on both sides, from Dr. Shirley’s view to Tony Lip’s view, I saw another side of the Green Book movie.
A change in mindsets of racism and from different perspectives.
Dr. Donald Shirley’s road trip through the South in the 1960s showed a courageous man facing up to many ugly actions and had many successful concerts.
The pianist who played for the rich people, but, Dr Donald Shirley did not believe in being treated in such a manner.
He was a well-known pianist but felt alone in his concerts.
The ugliness of other people’s actions left Dr. Donald Shirley feeling cold and unaccepted in society.
The two great actors had a fair experience with arrogant people. Moments that felt angry and unfolded in the deep south seen through the eyes of both men led them to feel proud of their values.
I was captivated by the actions of two courageous men who shared a friendship on a road trip that had many views of racism.
The white people had their views of Dr Donald Shirley not using the restrooms at the venue of his concert performances.
Tony Lip did not have a clue about certain conversations with Dr Donald Shirley, of food and most of the discrimination experienced down south. A true friendship developed on the road trip leaving Tony Lip and Dr Donald Shirley feeling surprised and caring for each other.
It was a difficult time for both actors, but they respected and understood each other. In Green Book, there are many sides to culture, honesty, working together, and a great view of the food.
They accepted each other and appreciated their time together. A wonderful story, in this movie you are reminded of the complicated lifestyles of people.
Tony Lip is taken on a trip that showed all sides of him of the pianist and of a journey that opened the mind of two actors through their experiences.
An African-American pianist and an Italian- American bouncer enjoy their time on a road trip to inform each other of their backgrounds while enjoying each concert with its own experience.
Tony Lip is concerned about the pianist, Dr Shirley, and forms this outstanding relationship.
Many issues of concern in the movie and Tony Vallelonga remained friends with Mahershala Ali for as long as they had lived. The capitalist guided the illiterate Tony Vallelonga to write better letters to his wife in using the correct words.
To help write better expressed letters and to learn of the surroundings of their journey. The whole trip lasted eight weeks and to have returned home by Christmas.
The road trip allowed for the Italian American to develop and improve on his knowledge and skills of his personal behavior.
Acceptance in society was horrible and led the two actors to places where they reacted in ways thought to be useful.
Conflict, racial differences, and every part of the Green Book movie felt to me that color doesn’t define us.
An inspiring movie that showed me comedy, a well-written dialogue and the educated pianist on a trip with his assistant.
I realized then and from what I had known of racism that millions of people were affected around the world.
People accepted and some are still in that era but that doesn’t give others the right for name-calling and insults.
Unfortunately, some people are still stuck in that era. Respect is earned and gained for the African American people and the educated pianist played his music for the rich white people.
No matter the money or the rich pianist, Dr Shirley wasn’t allowed to eat at the restaurant or use the restrooms.
They are from different backgrounds and face similar issues together to overcome racism.
The talented black pianist and the bouncer who accepted the offer as an assistant driver had an interesting journey through the south and improved together in life and society.
It is a simple plot that I didn’t find boring from the beginning to the end, I enjoyed this movie.
A great sense of humour from both actors and a way of life it was.
A movie done perfect, I watched three times and is disturbing to still have that experience in racism in this time of life.
To see a night club Italian American bouncer, in 1962, working for a classical African American pianist to drive him to the deep south to perform concerts showed motivation the driver had to take on the offer of this job.
This is a twist to Dr Donald Shirley’s private life and of his homosexuality.
A heartwarming story that every individual should watch and avoid judgement and a positive movie that is worth watching more than once.
Two people opened their hearts to overcome prejudices and racism on a road trip to many concerts.
The perfect write of the Green Book movie did not disappointment in its extraordinary form of a movie.
They were seen in all forms and brought an excellent acting style in its originality to the viewer.
An incredible story about unexpected friendships and unexpected conversations between two different people. A white Italian driving a black pianist got the interest of many individuals.
Intelligence matters more than the colour of the skin.
