Horror Icon Sid Haig Dead at Age 80

Born July 14, 1939 as Sidney Eddie Mosesian in Fresno, California Sid Haig had a long career in movies and although he may not have been the most successful actor he will certainly leave his mark in the Horror genre for decades to come and his presence in the film industry will surely be missed.
Getting his start in 1960 in a short film titled The Host and then in 1962 on the television series The Untouchables Sid Haig had countless roles over the decades, earlier in his career he was typically cast as a henchman or thug of some kind, tired of being typecast he decided to take a break from acting in 1992 , he spent the next five years becoming a certified Hypnotherapist.
In 1997 Quentin Tarantino wrote a part in his film Jackie Brown specifically for Haig and this is what breathed new life into Haig's acting career and 6 years later in 2003 he was cast in what many consider to be his defining role as Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses horror movie, it quickly garnered him a cult following among horror fans and cemented his place in horror movie history.
He reprised his role as Captain Spaulding in The movie The Devil's Rejects and then again in the movie 3 From Hell which was released on September 16, 2019 just about a week before his passing.
In early September of 2019 Haig took a fall at home and was hospitalized, while on the mend he suffered a Lung infection which he died from on September 21, 2019, he will be missed by horror movie fans across the world.
