It seems, these days, that more people are choosing the easy route. People don't want to work for what they want. Instead, they look for ways to get as much as possible out of life without putting too much in. If this sounds like you, I've laid out a few game plans for you. There are several ways to squeeze by in your life without exerting yourself or losing too much sleep. These are only a few of those ways, but they are the most basic and you should start here before moving on to more advanced techniques.

**DISCLAIMER: In no way, shape, or form am I claiming that an easy life is synonymous for a happy life. It is not. If you choose to live a life in which you have contributed very little or nothing, you run the risk of the following: Boredom, low self-esteem, low income, lack of friends and/or people who actually like you, a frequent feeling of restlessness, cockroach infestation, depression, and diarrhea. You may also be more likely to become addicted to alcohol or drugs. Consider yourself warned.

Lower Your Standards

I'm talking below sea level, here. If you plan on living an easy and effortless (ish) life, the you've got to commit. There will be no reaching for the stars. The sky is no longer your limit (it's more like your own physical height). You cannot expect to have an extraordinary life (unless you use the 'marry a rich person' method, possibly). When you choose this kind of life for yourself, you have to take what you can get, when you can get it. Don't worry, you'll get used to that.

Effort Requirement Level: None to Low.

Win the Lottery

Winning the lottery may only give you a large sum of money, but it sure will save you from having to work for a living. Of course, you will run out of money eventually, but you'll worry about that when it happens. There are plenty of other easy methods to try when this one fails you.

Effort Requirement Level: Low. Although you have to come up with the money to play the lottery, and find a way to support yourself before you win and after your money runs out, all you have to do is pick some numbers at random and put them on the paper. It doesn't get any easier than that.

Marry a Rich Person

Marrying a rich person is always a possibility. A rich person could include A-List celebrities, possibly B-List celebrities, successful inventors, investors, large business owners, etc. This option will, of course, require some serious luck. You will have to find a way to meet one of these people, and get them to fall in love with you. Once your mission is accomplished, though, you will have money up the wazoo and time to do whatever you please. You might even become famous, yourself.

Effort Requirement Level: High. You must make an effort to attract a rich person. Then you must make an effort to maintain the relationship over a long period of time. WARNING: This method is not for beginners.

Be Born With a Rare and Valuable Talent

If you have a natural talent for something that is rare and well sought out for, you've got an easy way of making money. This can be anything from being a mathematical genius, to writing the next big young adult novel series, to becoming the next Justin Bieber.

Effort Requirement Level: Moderate to High. You will actually have to do work of some kind to get your natural talent noticed by the masses. OR, you can use your lottery winnings and hire someone to do that for you.

Learn to Be a Loner...

Living a low-effort life means you will have to make some serious sacrifices. Having friends and loved ones is usually one of them. When people realize that you are just skimming by in life, with no ambition and no goals, they will start leaving you behind when their careers take off and they start families. Get used to it, my friend, it's likely to be a lonely ride.

Effort Requirement Level: None

...Or, Be Outrageously Likeable

Some people are just widely liked no matter what they do. If you were born with that magical charisma (or somehow learned to develop it), then your life just got a whole lot easier, pal! If you use your charisma to your advantage, you could charm your friends and family to the ends of the Earth. You can be so likeable that people just want to be around you, even though they can't explain why. This comes with a number of advantages, including being allowed to crash on your friends' couches and bumming money off of them.

Effort Requirement Level: Low to Moderate, depending. This should come easy to you, so not much effort is required. BE ADVISED: you must put in some level of effort to maintain these relationships. Your charisma alone will not keep you afloat for long.
