How was The Hunger Games movie

Updated on April 14, 2012

A lot of people have been asking me lately how The Hunger Games was when I went to see it in theaters. I usually only go and see movies that are of my interest, and not having read the books, I knew nothing about the movie when my wife told me we WERE going to see it. So... I went.

When people asked me how it was, I told them it was probably the best movie I've seen in the past year. Now remember, I didn't read the books. There have been people who have read the books tell me that I was crazy for recommending the movie as much as I did because the books were so much better. Hey now, since when does Hollywood make a movie identical to the book?

What did I think?

So what did I think of the movie? I loved it! Like I said, it was probably the best movie I've seen this year and most of last year.

The movie itself had a wonderful storyline that I really got into. I thought the characters and plot was genius. The actors chosen to play the parts were really good too. All around I just loved it.

There were a couple things in the movie that could have been done differently though. I don't want to give out any spoilers so I wont say exactly when or what was done in the movie to give parts away. I'll just say that something was done in the movie that wasn't done in the books (from what my wife tells me) and it really gives away what is going to happen in the other movies. Me not even reading the books, I was able to guess what was going to happen in the next movie before it even started development. Oh well though. But they should have done that part a little differently so that the movies aren't so predictable.

Conclusion

So... Do I recommend you to go see the movie in theatures? Can I hear a big resounding YES! The theaters should have died down a little bit now since the release so you should be able to see the movie comfortably. When the movie comes out, I would also recommend purchasing it for your home. I know I will be. I would make a nice collection to have next to your Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Twilight movie collection.

Aside from just a few glitches in the movie, The Hunger Games is an enjoyable experience sure to leave you wanting more. If you like reading, go pick up the books also. But you may not want to read the whole series if you are waiting for the next movie to come out. Don't want any spoilers!
