Imperium Dekadenz, When We Are Forgotten

Artist: Imperium Dekadenz

Year Released: August 30, 2019

Genre: Black metal

Tracks: 13

Length: 01:12:18

Label: Napalm Records

Imperium Dekadenz is a band from Germany, specifically from Villingen-Schwenningen, Baden-Würrtemberg formed by Vespasian and Horaz. Those who have been creating music in the present since 2004. Their current label: Napalm Records. Their musical career is well respected by listeners of this grim genre, thus owning a total of 6 albums, 1 split and 1 demo from 2005, where it all started.

We start with a mystical aura, a quiet yet intriguing atmosphere in the song: "When We Are Forgotten." called as the record. After a minute, the battery begins to rumble with constant power. The vocalist starts singing and the song becomes dreamy. We must add that the drums maintain a quite mellow and catchy rhythm, while the guitar riffs are played at full speed. Once the first song is finished, we can hear voices that echo and echo the whole song in a symphonic way. Absolutely gloomy and powerful.

Developing

We will find melancholic and mysterious melodies. We see how Imperium Dekadenz plays a bit with post-black and doom styles in their songs. The greatness of this album is due to its richness in mixes with the rhythm and play of the cymbals, the hard beat of the drum and the dark riffs that project that vigorous and constant suspense, it just captures you. It's so fornlon that moves in some way or another those of us who have been listening to this genre for years. I can compare their song: "Bis Ich Bin" on this album with the recent songs Mgła has released on their latest album for example, those catchy, dreary and beautiful melodies that do not stop and drown you in a sea of absolute blindness. Stunning! However these two are very different bands and each has its own identity.

Analysis of some of their songs.

As you listen to the album, its development immerses you in darker and more terrifying melodies. You can notice the meticulous work in the times, silences and setting with the details of the instrumentation in general. We can find many of these factors in songs such as: "My consolation I (Choirs of solitude)" and "My consolation II (Paths of perception)" the phantasmagorical voices that together surround the time-intervals that make the battery especially remarkable. A landscape dreamy to the uknown!

Once it ends we will find notes of mortuary and depressive of the organ, something that really surprised me, the connection and selection of how one song should end to begin the next one. This shows us that his songs are not heterogeneous but majestically dense and perfectly elaborated. This also demostrates how multifaceted and creative a band can be, minds that really knows the dark beauty that Black Metal is all about.

This sequence or bridge is repeated again with two different songs, the connection between the dark notes and the serene breeze of: "Seance" and its leap to the powerful, fast and brutal: "Absenz Elysium". where the explosion of the rhythm is perfectly brilliant and the elaboration of it makes you travel to undiscovered places. Later we will find calamity and serenity in the acoustic and apocalyptic theme called: "Reverie". It will make your hair stand on end and goose bumps, before it drives you into the madness of "Frozen In Time".

"Bis Ich Bin"

Conclusion

In conclusion, Imperium Dekadenz surprised us last year with this majestic album called: "When We Are forgotten". Where in each song there are several elements made with true energetic hatred with different styles and vibes. Please succumb to this destructive and unforgettable piece of music. Its warm sound is infernally characteristic, epic an really well crafted. This band surely will NOT be forgotten. Enjoy and let me know how your favorite song was.
