Who Is Snoke?

Supreme Leader Snoke was the head of the First Order. The character first appeared in episode VII of the series. He was a master for Kylo Ren (also known as Ben Solo), son of Han Solo. He has thus far appeared in episodes VII and VIII of the 'Star Wars' franchise. There exist a number of thoughts as to who exactly he may be. Although, he is still a mysterious personage. Personally, I think he is great. This opinion is not always shared. He looks similar in some ways to Darth Sidious, but he seems very different. He is consumed by the dark side, and has been shown to be capable of force lightning.

Is Snoke Dead?

First of all; we can only speculate right now. However, one should consider how Snoke was supposedly "killed". I'm not going to announce "spoilers" to you all here, because we are mere months away from episode IX; if you haven't seen the film, then you shouldn't be looking into it if you don't like spoilers. Anyway, we know that Supreme Leader Snoke was cut in half. Why wouldn't he be dead? Let's think about it for a moment.

Did Darth Maul Die In Episode I?

Darth Maul survived being cut in half and falling down a long shaft. This is canon by the way. After episode I, we have seen Darth Maul in computer animation and live action canon on-screen. Being sliced into pieces doesn't always kill force sensitives. That being stated, Snoke certainly could have survived what he went through. He may have even pretended to be lifeless to place away any possible or potential suspicion for his own purposes. Snoke might be dead, but I think it is possible that he is still breathing.

Is the Supreme Leader Alive?

In episode VIII, we did not see what happened to Snoke's body. This is a good indication that he is still living. How can we completely confirm that he is dead? We can't. Not yet anyway. Kylo Ren may not have sensed Snoke's life force, because Kylo Ren is arrogant at times. Kylo Ren is a powerful force sensitive, but he is far from what he could be with more training and concentration. He is very young and stubborn to be honest. Kylo Ren could have ignored something very important.

Does Darth Sidious Have A Puppet In Snoke?

Could Supreme Leader Snoke be simply a puppet? I think so. Maybe that is the reason that he died so quickly. He died quick. Not as quick as Darth Maul seemed to, but quick nonetheless. And, perhaps he is alive regardless of puppet status. It appears that Darth Sidious will definitely be in episode IX. Therefore, could Sidious have been using Snoke this entire time? Did Sidious want Snoke to die? I feel like that might be a yes and a yes.

Have We Met Snoke Before

Is Snoke really a new and unique character? I mean, he may be. Still, is he someone who we have been introduced to in a previous film? Could Snoke be Mace Windu? Mace Windu may be alive in some form. Is he the Emperor Darth Sidious in a different incarnation? Is he someone else who we have met? There are a lot of characters in canon. These ideas seem very possible, and I hope that there is a twist soon. We haven't had a good twist in so many years.

Was Snoke Every Alive?

I feel, in the context of this article, that Snoke may have never been alive. I don't necessarily mean that literally. But, the person inside may be dead. Anakin died to the dark side of the force. Who was Snoke before he was Snoke? Perhaps that is the best question. And, maybe Snoke was always evil. There may be a few beings here and there in this galaxy who are just evil. Anakin was not one of those people. But, what of characters like Sheev Palpatine?
