Laundry? or Money?

Updated on January 19, 2017

Show Me The Money

Isn’t that what we all want? Just a little bit of money. Let me see how much is in this machine and can I get any of it?

What can it possibly be that causes people to spend their money on these things? There is that hope that maybe this time I’ll win.

Meet Bob,

I watched him play this machine for over 20 minutes while I was in the laundromat folding my clothes. The table I was working on happened to be right next to him while he was playing. I was afraid to ask him but I ultimately did ask him and that is what gave me the idea to question the mindset of someone playing one of these machines. It’s not a blackjack table, or roulette table but time after time, of coming to this place, I see different people on it.

He tells me that there are bills on top to entice people, but they put a lot of quarters on the bottom and weigh it down so people cant get to the money. He spent ten dollars today and got back nothing.. He told me that one day he spent 300.00 and got back 150.00, but he was still at a loss because he was out 150.00 here he is again trying to get some money out of it. How can people stay away from temptation when it’s staring you in the face.

He was pointing out to me a bill that had fallen in the box but didn’t come out because I guess it needs weight on it?

No sooner than he left, a mother and son went over there and was trying their luck. I didn’t get their faces or names, I just wanted to show that all day long people are playing that machine. The owner comes once a week and collects the money. I’m in the wrong business!!

LOL! I know right?! For a couple thousand dollars you could find a good deal on something like that machine, find a small business that doesn't mind you setting up and BOOM! You're in business! :) Just look at places that sell arcade equipment (warehouses), they usually carry ALL kinds of these machines :)
