Lauren Davidson - Country Music Recording Artist
Introducing Lauren Davidson
Even though Lauren grew up in New Jersey and currently resides in New York City this country music artist is all about Nashville.
One particular quote by Lauren was "country songs tell a story and we all have a story to tell" and her songs sure do tell a story.
She feels that the direction country music is headed is great for artists such as herself. "The spectrum is so large and the community is so accepting." (I concur, Lauren.)
It was a pleasure interviewing Lauren and discovering her passion for music.
Is There a Family History of Musicians?
My dad is a singer and songwriter. He plays the piano, guitar and sings. We co-wrote a lot of my songs together.
Ritual Before Performing?
Sometimes things get a little chaotic, but before I hit the stage I like to take a few minutes to myself and I like to do a cheers or a huddle with my band.
Musician That Inspired You?
There are so many, but to name a few - Fleetwood Mac, Grace Potter and Carrie Underwood.
Who/What Inspired Your Love Of Music?
I've always loved music and I am inspired daily by a variety of things. I can't remember ever not being infatuated with music.
Do You Prefer To Be Indie or Record Label?
I want to be successful. There's a lot of ways that can be measured but if a record deal supported that goal, I would want that.
Have You Had Vocal Training?
On and off from the time I was young until now.
Do You Play Any Instruments?
I play a little bit of guitar but I have a lot of practicing to do.
Do You Write Your Own Songs?
I do. I also co-wrote with various people.
Have You Written Songs For Other Musicians?
Not yet, but I would love to!

How Long Have You Been In The Music Industry?
I've been writing and performing my own music for about two years.
How Did You Get Started In Country Music?
I started singing in bands as a background vocalist and casually started writing music as a hobby. Next thing I knew I had a bunch of songs that I was anxious to perform, so I put a band together of my buddies and now here we are.
Most Memorable Career Moment So Far?
That would be the first time I played at the Starland Ballroom which is one of the biggest venues from my hometown, I opened for Justin Moore.
Also, having the opportunity to sing "Wasting All These Tears" at a venue in NYC with Cassadee Pope.
Could You Share a Story About a Song You Are Now Working On?
I did a co-writing session with a dear friend of mine and we began four different songs that just sat unfinished for awhile. We are just now putting the final touches on two of those and I can't wait to perform them.
Where Do You See Yourself In 5 Years?
Hopefully on a major tour with my band for my album that is being played on the radio.

The first song I ever wrote which ended up being the title to my debut EP that I released back in October - Hear Me.
