Flowers in the Attic is based on the novel by Virginia C. Andrews. Corrine (Graham)'s husband dies and she is left with her four children Cathy (Shika), Christopher (Dye) and two younger children. She is left penniless and decides to look for comfort to her mother in Virginia.

Her mother is rich so she stays with them. The children's grandmother (Burstyn) does not want her husband knowing about her grandchildren or the help. She shows them their room and keeps them locked up in the attic. They are instructed not to come out of their room.
