Lindsay Lohan Gets Naked
Child star Lindsay Lohan has been all grown up for some time now, but just in case anyone was in any doubt, she bared all for New York magazine in a recreation of Marilyn Monroe's infamous drunken photo shoot known as "The Last Sitting." The pictures of Lindsay were taken by renowned photographer Bert Stern, who also took the pictures of Marilyn Monroe 46 years ago.
Lindsay is topless for all of the pictures, and whilst she is somewhat demurely covered by see through mesh cloths and what seem to be shower loofahs (though they are almost certainly oversized flowers) in most of the pictures, she shamelessly bares her breasts in at least one of them.
According to the photographer, Lindsay Lohan was chosen for her similarities to Marilyn Monroe, who must also have been an alcoholic train wreck who spent a great deal of time in rehab. According to Bert Stern, Lindsay Lohan has a lot more depth to her than has been shown in those teenage movies. I suppose that's what he says to get all the girls to take their clothes off, and judging by his results, it works at least once every 46 years.
There are plenty of ways to demonstrate depth as a human being, but getting one's breasts out surely isn't one of them.
Of course, neither Lindsay, nor Lindsay's mother see anything wrong with the shoot. Lindsay spoke of Marilyn Monroe's famous pictures, saying: "Here is a woman who is giving herself to the public. She's saying, ‘Look, you've taken a lot from me, so why don't I give it to you myself.' She's taking control back."
I'd pick that to pieces for our general amusement, but seeing as even a brain damaged mouse would see the logic break in taking one's clothes off in order to take control back, I'll just move onto Lindsay's mother's somewhat more coherent, though equally deluded perspective on the matter.
Dinah Lohan said: "It was very tastefully done... I respect the photographer as an artist, so I look at them artistically. For him to call Lindsay 46 years later and to say can you recreate these photos is an honor. I looked at it as art, and as Lindsay doing a character. So I don't look at them like it's Playboy; she was being a character. So if you look at it that way, you can look at it as a mother."
Yes, I suppose when you look at it that way, you can look at it as a mother. It probably works much the same way as it's only when you tell yourself that your child didn't actually want a childhood anyway, and totally wanted to work to support her family, and now takes great deal of drugs and is known as one of the most promiscuous women on the planet because she wants to be, and it's certainly not your fault for failing to provide any guidance or effective supervision - that you can live with yourself as a mother.
