Liv Tyler: Pictures and Brief Biography

Updated on April 5, 2011

Rock Royalty

Liv Tyler was born "Liv Rundgren" to famous groupy mother Bebe Buell in 1977. She grew up in Maine, with her mother, believing that rocker Todd Rundgren was her father. At age 11, while at an Aerosmith concert, she found out that she was actually the daughter of the band's lead singer, Steven Tyler. But really, all you would have to do to catch on to that one is do a side by side lip comparison. These two are the embodiments of the term "pillow lipped".

From Gracie to Arwen and Beyond

Tyler started her career at as a model at the tender age of 14. She soon grew to dislike the industry though, and left in in the dust. Her first real star moment came when she starred with Alicia Silverstone in Aerosmith's music video for "Crazy" in 1994, the same year she starred in the film "Silent Fall".

The next few years were filled with independent and art-house films including: "Empire Records", "Stealing Beauty", "That Thing You Do", and "Inventing the Abbots". In 1998 however, she launched into blockbuster fame as Bruce Willis' daughter and Ben Afflecks love interest in "Armageddon". Perhaps her most famous role was as Arwen, the elf who falls in love with Aragorn, in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

Be on the lookout for her in the upcoming films "The Strangers" and "The Incredible Hulk".

Romantic Couplings

Liv Tyler has been paired with Joaquin Phoenix, Orlando Bloom, and rocker Royston Langdon of the band Spacehog. She married Langdon on March 25, 2003 in the Caribbean. On December 14, 2004 she gave birth to their son, Milo William Langdon. The couple recently announced their separation and intent to divorce, but the split seems amicable.

Despite being such a high profile actress Tyler has carried herself with grace and aplomb. We never see her on the tabloid pages or gossip columns, and no mugshots for DUI charges exist. She is truly a Hollywood star that deserves respect.
