Have you gone on a ‘Longmire Binge’ lately?! At least that’s what the Longmire Posse (Longmire Fans) refers to as the ‘LongBinge’ meaning “the act of consuming multiple episodes of Longmire on Netflix in one sitting.” If you haven't yet, it is highly encouraged.

So, what is ‘Longmire’ you ask? Well, the answer to this question is not merely ‘what’ it is, but ‘who’ he is. Allow me to give you a brief synopsis. The ‘Longmire’ series is based on a series of novels called the Walt Longmire Mysteries written by New York Times best-selling author Craig Allan Johnson. Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) stars as an honorable and decent Wyoming county sheriff who returns to work after the loss of his wife and refuses to move on. Rather, he prefers to live by his own instincts and investigates crimes throughout the fictional ‘Absaroka County’. Throughout his routine investigations, he delegates most of the general police duties to his deputies Branch Connally (Bailey Chase), ‘The Ferg’ (Adam Bartley), and Victoria “Vic” Moretti (Katee Sackhoff). His daughter, Cady (Cassidy Freeman), is mostly concerned about his well-being hoping he can move on from the past while assisting him with his campaign for re-election against one of his own deputies. And last, but not least, Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillps), a longtime childhood friend of Walt's, who also assists him with any dealings within the local Indian Reservation.

In order for me not to get too carried away with the spoilers, I would rather not ruin the surprise. It would probably be best to watch all five seasons as an extra dose of entertainment and allow you to enjoy the complete series for your viewing pleasure. However, I do have to warn you, it is rather intense and will have you sitting at the edge of your seat with the cliff hangers leaving you yearning for more!

Speaking of ‘more’, Netflix will soon air it's last and final season of the 'Longmire' series in 2017. Now that all of us are updated with this discouraging announcement, it has only left all of us 'Longmire' fans mourning for the finale of this popular series. However, I can hardly ever imagine it being the end. In fact, I see it as only the beginning. Once after you catch up watching all five seasons on your ‘LongBinge’ while also patiently waiting for Season 6 to commence, we will always have the privilege of owning the DVD's as they become available for purchase, 'LongBinge' the series again and again on Netflix, attend the Longmire Days celebration in Buffalo, WY, as well as, reading the 'Longmire' series written by the author, Craig Johnson himself!

As a special treat for new 'Longmire' fans out there and to also get a small dose of what to expect on Season 5, Netflix has provided us a little teaser trailer. The clip can be viewed below.

Longmire Season 5 Trailer: A Tale of Loyalty & Betrayal

Longmire Days

Longmire has redefined how the television-viewing world sees Buffalo, WY. Now that Netflix took over the reins to produce the show, it comes as no surprise that it has definitely shaped the city’s profile globally. Thanks to the author, Craig Allan Johnson, his mystery novels have become the most popular TV show ever to air on Netflix! And due to Longmire becoming a huge hit, the city of Buffalo, WY has also attracted large amount of crowds like never before! For the past five years including 2016, the annual Longmire Days celebrations, in Buffalo WY, have positively influenced the show’s popularity. If and when you ever do get the opportunity, I highly recommend attending. It is a fun-filled event for all ages. Who knows? You might finally get that once in a lifetime opportunity to meet, take a selfie, and/or obtain an autograph from one, if not most, of your favorite actors from the series, to also include the author, Craig Johnson himself!

The Longmire Posse

The Longmire Posse (Longmire Fans) was organized by Pamela Nordick. She is widely well known among Longmire fans as the hero who saved the ‘Longmire’ show after its cancellation on A&E in August of 2014. [You may read more of the history behind that here]

Pamela Nordick oversees and manages the Longmire Posse “stampedes,” via social media and creates new graphics, themes, and hashtags daily. The “stampedes” are held each week in order to encourage the public, as well as, fans of the series, to get involved on Twitter within the ‘Longmire’ community by posting comments/reviews about both the show and the novels. In conclusion, as 'Longmire' obtains an increase in popularity throughout the fan-based community world-wide, whether rain or shine, the loyalty of the ‘Longmire Posse Stampede’ enthusiasm will persevere throughout the remainder of the season and beyond.

The 'Longmire Posse' are always welcoming new fans of the ‘Longmire’ series. To join and be a part of the Longmire Community, please visit the websites below:

About The Author

For the most part, if you enjoy watching the ‘Longmire’ series on Netflix, you will most definitely enjoy reading the novels. In fact, I highly recommend reading the novels because I find you obtain more information rather than what is shown on the big screen. However, the show does in fact complement the novels in the same mannerism as keeping you at the edge of your seat. By the time you finish the first series, I guarantee you will find yourself craving for more. And before you know it, you will soon realize that you have already read the complete series of novels keeping you guessing what will happen next.
