Mork Loves Mindy and a BBQ
Free Meal Invitation
An invitation to a barbecue party came in the mail! So excited to see that out of all the people, they choose to invite a guest and myself to this wonderful event, after all it stated that there was limited seating. I do not get too many invitations, so I am always excited about these things.
Most of the time we ignore these free dinner invitations. I am all for the free meals, but my husband does not want to sit for 90 minutes to 2 hours of learning about their timeshares, retirement homes, get financial freedom and let us show you how to live the American dream.
This one was different. It stated that it was for a MLM BBQ. Oh, wow...this brings back memories of the Mork & Mindy sitcom. One of those silly comedies that I loved to watch and now a reunion of this TV show...can't wait to attend.

Three of the Four Seasons on DVD
Most of these invitations are to one of the local restaurants. Sometimes the meals are not too bad. Except the one, we attended years ago about setting up our own ecommerce store online. It was a hot summer day, after waiting two long hours with the central air broken down, the room was crowded and hot. The meal finally came with a small tasteless sandwich and a small bag of chips. This company that wanted $2,500 start up fee plus $50 a month for hosting could not spring for a better meal.
This one was going to be different with Pam Dawber and Robin Williams present and sharing their new reunion sitcom, Mork Loves Mindy. By now they would be grandparents to little Orkans.
Below are the DVD of the Mork & Mink comedy.

A Spinoff from Happy Days - The Romantic Appeal of Season One Being the Best
Robin Williams was such a hit on Happy Days as an alien from Ork. He attempts to take Richie Cunningham back to Ork as a human specimen. Fonzie foils his plan. It all turned out to be a dream. The audience loved Mork so much that a spinoff was formed called Mork and Mindy.
On his planet, humor permitted. Mork was a jokester and the moment he woke up, he found humor in everything. Orson, who has Mork's long-suffering superior, sent Mork to Earth to rid him of his planet.
Mork tries to fit in by wearing a suit backwards. He meets Mindy (Pam Dawber), when he finds that her boyfriend left her because of an argument. She does not notice the suit is backwards and assumes he is a priest. Mindy confides in Mork
Mindy is comfort in the fact that Mork is listening to her problems. However, Mork is really observing her. When he tells Mindy that he is from another planet, Mindy agrees to keep his secret. She offers her home for him to stay.
Through living with Mindy, Mork learns how to be human. Eventually they fall in love and have a baby (played by Jonathon Winters), named Mearth,. On the planet Ork, they start out looking like elderly people and then become younger. This is why Mork and Mindy's baby looks like someone's grandfather.
By time the fourth season came, the show took on too many changes and lost it's appeal.
