Masterpiece Optimus Prime: The Noble Warrior

Updated on July 18, 2011

Heroes are mainstays of comic books and cartoons. They are around to save the day. In Transformers, the heroes are the Autobots and they are led by Optimus Prime, their brave and compassionate leader.

Optimus Prime is power incarnate. He can dish out a lot of pain and take plenty of punishment. In the age of CGIs, fans truly enjoy watching him in a fight. For one thing, maybe because we were so used to watching him as a cartoon that we don't mind CGI at all.

But more importantly, we like to watch him fighting in the big screen because with big robots, things are blown up and buildings are torn down. Nothing man-made is safe from becoming collateral damage when Optimus Prime goes into action.

In the first movie, Optimus Prime destroys Bonecrusher by decapitating him in the middle of a busy freeway.

In the second movie, Optimus Prime parachutes down from a military transport, somersaults into landing, and in one fluid motion transforms as his famous big rig alter ego to chase down a much bigger Demolisher.

Takara is the original Transformers toy manufacturer from Japan. They continue to make Transformer action figures and their MP-04 Masterpiece Optimus Prime reflects the heroic Autobot leader as powerful as can be. Standing close to 14 inches, this is more than just an action figure. Although the recommended age is 10 years and up, this is not just a toy for playing. It's a collectible that fans of the Transformers will cherish.
