Meet The Bojack Horseman Cast
Where have I heard that voice before?
If you are anything like me, you find yourself watching all kinds of animated series and asking "Where have I heard that voice before?".
Well, if you find yourself enjoying the sadly comical Netflix series Bojack Horseman, there are tons of fantastic stars with huge film and television credits lending their talents to the show. Chances are pretty good that Bojack isn't the first time you have enjoyed the works of the characters!
What is Bojack Horseman?
Bojack Horseman arrived on the scene via Nexflix in August of 2014 and fans have been obsessed ever since. The series follows Bojack Horseman, a celebrity actor (well, twenty years ago celebrity) as he desperately tries to regain what he had, not only fame and fortune, but happiness and reason.
Where South Park raised the bar for what adult animation could be, Bojack raised the bar in it's own, unique way. Suddenly, not only do we have a hilarious adult comedy that tears Hollywood to shreads, but we also have a show that is brave enough to tackle everything from depression to anxiety to anger issues. Hardly what you expect from a "dumb cartoon".
As with any animated series, the characters are onky as engaging as the voice actors who play them. So, let's discover the voices behind these hilarious, poignant, and sometimes familiar-sounding characters.
Will Arnett as Bojack Horseman
Will Arnett provides the voice of the series star, Bojack Horseman. Arnett brings to Bojack what he brings to many of his roles: a deep voice and perfectly dry wit. His pacing and tone make for the perfectly fitting voice for a down and out actor trying to pull his life back together. It's hard to imagine anyone else as Bojack.
A few Bojack Horseman quotes include: "Clean up your s**t, Todd!" and "Life is a series of closing doors, isn't it?"
Arnett's biggest claim to fame has been his role as Gob Bluth on the FOX series Arrested Development. More recently, he has played Nathan Miller in CBS's The Millers.
Alison Brie as Diane Nguyen
Diane Nguyen, the shy, feminist, memoir writer comes to life with the voice of Alison Brie. A little bit of sweet mixed with a little bit of snark, Brie brings a great performance that contrasts really nicely with Bojack. Not only that, her calm demeanor works perfectly as the wife of the super excited Mr. Peanutbutter.
Alison Brie came to popularity as Annie Edison in the NBC series Community. She also played Unikitty in the Lego Movie.
Paul F Tompkins as Mr. Peanutbutter
The ever-so-energetic Mr. Peanutbutter is voiced by funny man Paul F Tompkins. Mr. PB's voice is always one of excitement and joy. Somehow, Tompkins finds a way to keep the cheery sound in Mr. Peantubutter's voice even when arguing with Bojack or Diane. Cheery as he may be, it can sometimes be tough to tell if Mr. PB is truly excited or just being sarcastic.
Paul F Tompkins has garnered recognition primarily as a stand up comic. In addition, he has provided various voices for FOX's Bob's Burgers and Cartoon Network's Regular Show.
Aaron Paul as Todd Chavez
Todd Chavez, the slacker mooch friend of Bojack, is skillfully voiced by Aaron Paul. Paul lends an amazing voice to this lazy, yet sometimes creatively intelligent, character. He can hit everything from super low and depressed to super high and excited in any given scene. Underneath every line of dialog, Paul provides a performance that can make Todd sound like even more of a drunk than Bojack!
Aaron Paul comes to us from Breaking Bad (yes, the wildly popular drama!), playing Jesse Pinkman. Paul also has a few film credits, including Tobey Marshall in Need For Speed.
Amy Sedaris as Princess Carolyn
Everyone's favorite talent agent and career kitty, Princess Carolyn is voiced by the amazing Amy Sedaris. The snarky, serious voice of Sedaris works perfectly for her character, who commonly acts as the only sane one in the room. Princess Carolyn's dry wit and snappy comebacks flow nicely when performed by the pro VO.
Amy Sedaris is best know as Jerri Blank from Comedy Central's Strangers With Candy. Currently, she plays Julia on the new ABC Family series Kevin From Work.
A Few More (Very) Notable Names
