Melodies Of Life?

Updated on October 13, 2009

How many times have you turned some form of music on and there was a song that could have certainly been written about you and your life? Yet, when we stop and give it some thought, are not all songs a way to express what we are feeling.

Did man first find this way to release his thoughts and pass on his stories? History tells us that Americans have been singing since the first Europeans and Africans arrived in North America. The records show that there were work songs, hymns, love songs, dance tunes, both humorous and many other parodies.

I will attempt to find this road through this media for it could have taken many twist and turns with ---musical notes and lyrics.

Music and songs many times become a therapy process. It can be ---physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual.  Yet, this gift has a power that reaches out to all of us.

We sometimes wonder if we have chosen the right turn in the road of life for we may stumble over the stones that are scattered there?

Oh yes, there will be rainy days that bring tragedy and grief and out of it we gain strength AND endurance

When love comes along grab it and hold it for without giving love you will not HAVE that love.

We all need to keep chasing those rainbows of life for that is our MELODY OF LIFE.

I'd like to learn something from you.. Im not sure of an alternate way to express that statement. You just seem like you could teach me something, and I like to learn..

Putz thanks, If we listen carefully to most songs they are simply telling us a story. I for one can not sing or write a song---but I do like the stories that they tell and they keep my toes tapping.

Hey Cris thanks. I too have been away from hubs, but it's you're "FAULT", you are keeping me young, for right now I am trying to learn PHOTOSHOP---not easy for this ole head because I love how you tell a story with it. Of course there is music playing in the back-ground.

      Miss Ginn

And I missed your hubs. Sorry if I've been away for far too long. Anyway, I agree with you as always. Music is one of those things that can lift us up when all else fails. Or we have gotten rid of it long ago if it can't :D

Pachuca thanks, I have dropped a coin in the ole Juke-box many times in my life, even back in LODI!

Feline thank you, music has gotten me through a few rough spots of life and certain songs will always be there?

Yes Tom, I for one can not sing a lick--not even in the shower (would crack the soap) but I think all songs are written about life in some way and I am a big fan of Blues/Jazz but listen to them all just to hear the story.

ralwus, silly songs are a subject for a future hub for I have heard some wacky-ones too---thanks for the reminder. Laughter comes in all forms and we really need it ---now!

Maybe early man was given a song early on for remorse. Loss of a child is painful. I discovered that Froggy Went a Courtin' is a very old Scottish song from when it was still a Nation of its own. There must be silly songs that go way back from all over huh?

this one as an article I needed today Ginn! Thank you! I loved watching Judy but the best one is Rain! I'd never heard Breaking Benjamin...very nice/I can understand their words :) the older I get the more I remind myself of all the choir and choral directors of my youth

"Enunciate! Open your mouth! If you cannot sing wth 3 fingers in your mouth you are not using all of your capacity!" lol
