Movies with Music About Heavy Metal

Updated on August 27, 2011

Heavy metal music seems to rarely make the limelight, especially in movies. Here is a compilation of the best movies with metal.

Rock Star

This movie rocks hard. The band in this movie, Steel Dragon, consists of many great musicians from great rock bands. I wish this band really existed...I'd go see them!

This movie was awesome and changed the entire dance culture! The scene that sticks to my mind is when Kevin Bacon is driving around listening to Quiet Riot's Metal Health in his hip VW bug. He gets pulled over by the cops for disturbing the peace with his metal music!

A Nightmare on Elm Street

This movie rocked hard!  Nothing better than a combination of hot girls having nightmares! Even Dokken did the song "Dream Warriors" that embraced the essence of the movie and the fight against Freddie Krueger!

The Wrestler

I just recently saw this movie. It is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I used to watch WWF back in the day. Wrestling and Metal belong together. This movie features metal music from Accept (Balls to the Wall), Quiet Riot (Metal Health), Guns-N-Roses (Sweet Child of Mine), and Ratt (Round and Round). Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei sing Ratt's Round and Round together in the great bar scene.

Point Break

Point Break is one of the greatest movies ever! I love this movie and have probably watched it 100 times. Ratt rocks with Nobody Rides for Free in this movie.  They need to make a Point Break sequel!

Great tunes kea. I agree that Point Break was an amazing movie. Makes me want to jump out of a plane and fly through the air just like Keanu Reeves. Thrill-ride. Patrick Swayze RIP
