There wasn't any Blood on the Tracks by the time I left the Sunset Bar & Grill in Warsaw, Kentucky Sunday afternoon, but if there was it would've sparkled like the summer sheen across a sun-drenched Ohio River right behind guitarists Mike Kruse and Jamonn Zeiler as the duo picked their way through a mix of vintage blues, folk and country.
Kruse has played regularly on Sundays at Sunset Bar & Grill throughout June and July and is scheduled to play Fridays from 5-8 p.m at Sunset throughout August. He was joined by Zeiler on Sunday for a set that featured the likes of "Big Boss Man" by Jimmy Reed and "Mr. Bojangles" and "Up Against The Wall, Redneck Mother" by Jerry Jeff Walker among other amped-acoustic classics, like "Mr. Tambourine Man" and "California Dreamin'."
Besides being an accomplished guitarist and singer, Zeiler is a guitar technician, who also builds acoustic guitars. He's working on a limited-edition acoustic designed to evoke a time and place sun-drenched in its own right with a blues and rock tradition like no other.
