Steve and Dana

Resting at home and watching television shows from Star World, I came across a new television show (new for me anyway). The show was called Mobbed. It touched my emotions and draw tears from my eyes. What is this show about? To quote from Wikipedia:

"Mobbed is an American reality television show which premiered on Fox on March 31, 2011. Mobbed was tested as a one-time television special to air following American Idol. After it attracted 10.8 million viewers, Fox decided to pick up the show for eight episodes.

The premise of the show is to use a flash mob to create an once-in-a-lifetime event. Hosted by Howie Mandel, this show takes participants who would like to reveal a secret to a friend or loved one through the power of a flash mob. This unknowing person goes through moments of confusion while people around them break out into synchronized dance in front of their eyes. By the end, they will learn a secret that will affect their lives. These secrets include pregnancy, lost family members, a proposal, and even family reconciliation."

The episode that I got to watch was about Steve and Dana. They have an 'internet' friendship for five years before Steve got the courage to go to Dana and court her properly. He became her bestfriend and vice versa but they have not met in person! He was from Pittsburgh and she is from Los Angeles. He packed all his bags and putting it all into the truck, he took a chance in finding love. He carried a lot of confidence in him to push through courting Dana in a grand gesture: through a television show. His band was also a big help in supporting Steve. They were hilarious to look at when they danced. You will then cheer for them and hope for Steve to succeed in his endeavor. Was this just a big publicity stunt for their band? It might look like it, but seeing Steve and Dana react naturally, I would like to believe this was real.

The grand gesture was so romantic especially when they were assisted by the Mobbed Team. Flowers, yellow umbrellas, great dancing, engaging songs and the amazing set- developed into a good show. I was nervous at first that Steve will be going home alone because of Dana's hidden camera interview. She did not mention Steve even once when she was asked about her personal life. She even disclosed she likes the bad boy stereotype, which is the opposite of Steve. When she said yes, Steve was shocked but recovered easily sealing the event with a kiss. And I am happy to know that even though this show was aired January 4, 2012 they are still dating up until now (I have great hopes). And with the success of Mobbed and Punchline I hope they stay together. Forever might be asking for too much from them, but I am an optimist.

He picked the most appropriate song to dance and serenade her with. It was "I Want You to Want Me" by Cheap Trick. Can you really fall in love with your best friend? For Dana and Steve, let us hope for the best.
