Most Underrated: Sons of Anarchy
Overview
I think one of the most underrated shows on television today is definitely Sons of Anarchy. Sons of Anarchy is a television show about a close, family-like club of "motorcycle enthusiasts" (outlaw motorcycle club) set in the fictional small town of Charming, California. Sons of Anarchy centers around the club's Vice President, Jackson "Jax" Teller (played by the sultry Charlie Hunnam), as he begins questioning the motives of the club and himself.
I remember sitting with my husband back in 2008 on the couch watching promos for this show, and I decided to give it a look see. Sons of Anarchy premiered on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 10pm EST. Definitely my favorite drama show, Sons of Anarchy has been a regular show my husband and I watch together, we never miss an episode.
Wednesday, September 6, 2011 @ 10pm EST Sons of Anarchy will be showing it's 4th season on the FX Network. If you love a good drama this is a MUST SEE show!
A Little About Charming
Charming is a fictional town in Sons of Anarchy, located in the San Joaquin Valley of California. The motto of this quaint little town is, "Our name says it all". In Season 1, The Sons of Anarchy Official Website gave GPS coordinates for Charming that placed it in the middle of an agricultural field along California SR-12 about 3.75 miles west of Interstate 5, just under 1 mile north of the road. These coordinates put Charming between Lodi and Rio Vista, California. The website no longer includes these data.
Meet the Main Characters:
Jackson "Jax" Teller
The UK actor, Charlie Hunnam, plays the main protagonist, Jackson "Jax" Teller, on the television series Sons of Anarchy. Jax is the Vice President of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original (SAMCRO) chapter based in the fictional town of Charming, California, USA.
Jax is the son of John Teller, the founder of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club. This life is all he has ever known. Jax is a paradox on two wheels - intelligent, sensitive, and reflective - yet quick-tempered and dangerously reactive.
Having recently discovered several of his late father's old journals, and an old manuscript titled "The Life and Death of Sam Crow: How the Sons of Anarchy Lost Their Way", which collectively lays out the original manifesto policy for SAMCRO, he finds himself doubting the club's direction, causing friction between himself and his stepfather Clay Morrow, and spreading doubt amongst the other members.
Gemma Teller-Morrow
Gemma Teller-Morrow is the queen of Charming and of the SOA Club, and is played by Katey Sagal. Sagal also have played Peg Bundy from Married with Children and also the voice of Leela from Futurama. Gemma is more than a housewife, and way more ruthless than her animated character, Leela.
Gemma is the widow of John Teller (the club's co-founder and Jax's father), the wife of Clay Morrow (the club's co-founder and present President of the club), and also the mother of Jax Teller. She takes her position as the "queen" of Charming and of the SOA very seriously. Gemma is probably what you would expect from "Biker Queens", she's very protective of her family and club members, and she makes sure she gets her way. My second favorite character of the series.
Clarence "Clay" Morrow
Clarence "Clay" Morrow is played by Ron Perlman, known for his role as Hellboy. Clay is the President of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, but he also tries to keep Charming safe and worry-free. Clay was one of the nine members that formed the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, which at that time he was the youngest member. He also co-founded the Teller-Morrow Auto Repair Shop, which also doubles as the Sons' clubhouse. Clay is the step-father of Jax Teller, and the husband of Gemma Teller-Morrow.
Which show is better in your opinion?
Season 1 Promo
The Sons of Anarchy is compared to other "club"-like drama series like The Sopranos, but in my opinion, The Sopranos has NOTHING on The Sons of Anarchy. What's your opinion? Answer the poll on the right and leave your comment below.
This show can appeal to guys and gals (me, point taken), but this show is not suitable for children. At the very least, check the show out, if you don't like it (which I doubt if you love drama television shows), you can always turn the channel. As I stated before, the fourth season is about to start up, September 6, 2011 on the FX Network. JOIN US!
