Keira Christina Knightley is an English actress and model. She is the daughter of actor, Will Knightley and playwright, Sharman Macdonald. Keira Knightley was born on 26 March 1985 in South London suburb of Richmond (Teddington). She had an older brother, Caleb Knightley, who was born in 1979.

Knightley began acting as a child on television. She is also trained in dancing. She made her film debut in 1995 in Moira Armstrong's A Village Affair (TV). She played supporting role as Natalie Portman's decoy "Padme" to Portman's "Amidala" in “Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace” (1999). After co-starring in the film, “Bend It Like Beckham” as tomboy footballer and appearing in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, Knightley gained international fame.

In 2008, she became the second highest-paid actress in Hollywood. She reportedly earned $32 million in 2007 making her the only non-American on the list of highest paid actresses.

She got married with James Nicholas Righton(born 25 August 1983), an English musician on 4 May 2013 in Mazan, Vaucluse in the south of France. Their daughter, Edie, was born in May 2015.
