Dunkirk (Christopher Nolan)

Taking place in World War II, this high action-packed movie is impressive to say the least. Starring Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy, this movie recounts the story of British and French troops evacuating from France in an extremely realistic and graphic war depiction.


2001: A Space Odyssey (Stanley Kubrick)

Starring Keir Dullea and Gary Lockwood as they embark on a journey into space. They soon find themselves in a dangerous mission as their AI system, HAL, takes control leading them on a trip through space and time. This is surely a must watch for anyone who likes sci-fi movies and likes to be left questioning.


The Grand Budapest Hotel (Wes Anderson)

The Grand Budapest Hotel is the ultimate movie for anyone that loves a good mystery. Taking place at a ski-resort owned by Gustave H.(Ralph Fiennes), who stops at nothing to provide first class service including sexual desires to his guests is thought to be the cause of a murder after one of his lovers dies.


The Pianist (Roman Polanski)

Based on the autobiography "The Pianist: The Extraordinary True Story of One Man's Survival in Warsaw, 1939-1945." Adrien Brody plays a polish-Jewish man and his quest for survival in Warsaw as well as being a talented piano player while in hiding.


The Departed (Martin Scorsese)

With an incredible cast including, Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, and Mark Whalberg this is a go to movie for anyone that appreciates tremendous acting. Boston cop Billy Costigan is set to investigate a gang chief named Frank Costello until a criminal by the name of Colin Sullivan figures out someone is investigating him. Colin and Billy must figure out each others identities in order to save their lives.


There Will Be Blood (Paul Anderson)

Daniel Day-Lewis plays Daniel Plainview, an oil prospector who moves to California. Plainview makes his money off of conning local landowners into selling their property to him for much less than it is worth, until a local preacher suspects Plainview's intentions and starts to investigate.


Arrival (Dennis Villenueve)

Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams star in this highly acclaimed sci-fi movie. Linguistics professor, Louise Banks decides to lead a team of investigators to the destinations of 12 giant spaceships that landed at different locations around the world. Banks races time to communicate with the alien life before it possibly could be too late.


The Lord of the Rings 1-3 (Peter Jackson)

You've probably heard of The Lord of the Rings before as most everyone has. This 3 movie, 11 hour series is by far one of the best trilogies available and a great way to spend a day. The future of the world lies in one ring that is placed into the hands of a hobbit. Powers all across the world must fight for this ring to save mankind. Starring actors like Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Ian McKellen, and many more


The Matrix 1-3 (Lana Wachowski)

The Matrix, starring Keanu Reeves is one of his most acclaimed roles. In this mind-bending 3 movie series, Neo (Keanu Reeves) makes a life changing decision that sets the pace for the 3 movies. Neo must stop a team of agents in a simulated reality world where he soon finds out his true powers.


Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Michael Gondry)

Kate Winslet plays Clementine in this movie, a heartbroken woman who goes so far as to procedures to forget about her ex boyfriend Joel (Jim Carrey). However Joel also undergoes this procedure in order to forget her as they both slowly forget who they fell in love with. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind focuses on the pain of loss and the deeper connections within relationships.


Ferris Bueller's Day Off(John Hughes)

Ferris Bueller's Day Off is the textbook definition of a classic movie. Starring Mathew Broderick as he plays Ferris, a high school kid who pretends to come down with a deadly sickness only to skip school. Ferris is soon joined by his girlfriend and friend on this adventure but things go South when the school starts to realize something isn't right.
