Mural Paintings Found on Various Buildings on My Travels
Attracting attention with a Mural
On our travels I was fascinated at the different ways many businesses use murals to advertise. Then there are the ones painted on ablution blocks or used to cover old buildings.
Some display what the business sells while others depict what is in that particular towns, showing different characters or the many types of animals and fish found in the ocean.
Why Paint Murals
Over recent years there has been an explotion of Murals painted on otherwise blank dirty buildings.
These paintings not only brighten up the towns they also depict what the town has to offer. When a traveller drives past one it gives them an idea what the town is all about.
While other murals may showcase the different birds or animals around the towns area.
Painted Silos
The latest trend is Murals on the old grain silos.
Around the wheatbelt in Western Australia you can take a trip along the wheatbelt way and see the many different painted Murals on silos in each town. All depicting different things in each town.
In Northam we have many other buildings painted. One depicts the swans in our river. Another one showcases the black cockatoo. They are all beautiful paintings. Out of town we have a great big horse out the front that is Swan hill Plus a big bus painted with the same on it.
