5) David Guetta - Little Bad Girl
As someone who has only recently got into any form of dance/club music, I can't say this is the best song of its kind. However, it can't be far off being one of the best. Firstly, the auto-tuned chorus is perfect to casually sing along to. The beat starts 8 seconds in and doesn't stop. The lyrics blend in perfectly with the beat, with all the right words being emphasised. I couldn't tell you how this song is structured or how the lyrics go, but what I do know, is I can sing along and dance (not that I can dance very well) to it. I very good song to motivate you or start off a night out. Probably more aimed at young adults but you never know who will like a song. Esquire sum this song up perhaps more neatly.
Euphoric beats plus Taio Cruz's simply sung hook plus a Ludacris cameo. It's the kind of song that could only come from a DJ, somebody who knows how to physically move people.

Why? This is a FANTASTIC song to play if you are into jogging or running. Consistent beat to keep a steady pace. Gradual build up to motivate you. And it stands out as a song in it's own right.
4) The B-52's - Love Shack
A trend in this list seems to be developing. The majority of song are those which make you want to move, sing and cheer you up....I wonder what that says about me. Anyhow, the 6th song in this list fits the trend. Love Shack is a late 80's song incorporating all the pop, funk, new wave and slightly cheesy sound you'd be mad to dislike. The two sets of male and female vocals, occassional trumpets and funky beat really give a good sense of 'having a good time'. A highly recommended song that I was not surprised to see up on this list. Also - if Wikipedia is to be believed - it was the first publicly ripped and played song in the iTunes software and ranks 243 on Rolling Songs Greatest Songs of All Time, so if anything, you owe it to yourself to listen to this song.

Why? Those vocals are superb and the beat is truly funky. The music video says it all.
3) The Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Tune
.........yes that is right. If you didn't enjoy the films then skip right over this entry. This song is as enjoyable and well known as the Pirates films (or at least the first one). For those who were not motivated by any previous songs, then this orchestral masterpiece will do the job. No words are needed. Just imagination and the feeling of an orchestral behind you in full swing.

Why? I'd orignially bought this tune so that I could use it in the background of a History presentation, in which the battles of the English Civil War were acted out.....3 hours later and it is still on repeat. Again, a motivational song and a half.
2) Morningside - Sara Bareilles
This is 'proper' music as some people may say. Ms Bareilles has talent which shines through in bucket loads. A great voice. A broad understand of many musical styles. Heck, the song which introduced her to a mainstream audience was about how she didn't want to write a song for mainstream audiences. This song mixes in the funk you'd get from a Maroon 5 song with jazz and pop aspects, something immediately clear from the first chord played.
How many plays? 70
Why? Enough funk to warrant many listens and it's deep enough that after the 30th play, you still discover slight sounds or music twists to keep you interested.
1) Let's Get It Started - The Black Eyed Peas
I did not like this band until a few years ago. I still don't necessary like the band (although Will.I.Am is the most well meaning person I've even seen interviewed). However, this song is quite excellent. Nominated for Best Song of The Year and seen in many comedy films like Hot Tub Time Machine, this song has at least got the recognition it deserves.Furthermore, it will appeal to many music fans -It may be a dance song, but it can feel like a rock song or pop song. The simple but effective lyrics mean singing along is not only easy but feels like part of the experience of the song. Experience is the key word mind.
How many plays? 79
Why? It's not a song. It's an experience (and a good one at that).
