Onion Audio - PA & DJ Equipment Hire

Updated on October 30, 2010

Onion Audio Launhed on Hub Pages

Hey guys, the Onion Audio PA Hire and DJ Equipment Hire hub is now launched. We will be keeping you updated with our latest goings on and giving advise on problems that crop up in the live sound industry as well as writing on specific subjects that i feel like talking about!

Below are a few pictures of events we have done recently. The first was a festival on Woodhouse Moor where Onion Audio provided Leeds PA Hire for the second stage. We used a single Kv2 Audio ES rig comprising of 2x ES1.0, 2x ES2.5 as well as two EX2.5 sub for more weight as the acts were mainly hip hop MCs playing with backing tracks.

The monitors you can see at the front of the stage are Kv2 Audio EX10s, these are great for vocal monitors but need all the bottom end from around150hz taken out as they start to struggle at the high volumes the artists need.

The other Monitors we used were two Yamaha sm15's these were placed at either side of the stage due to the length restrictions at the front of the stage. Using four monitors on a small stage like this leads to no complaints from any of the artists.

The second two pictures show one of three stages Onion Audio provided sound for. This was the main stage for the festival that set across different venues in the town. The original plan for this stage was a double ES system, however the band insisted they would need more bass as there performance is very bass heavy.

With this in mind we used a Single VHD system comprising of 1x VHD2.0 & 4x VHD2.15 (subs) per side. This gave a great sound for the day with more than enough bass for even the most demanding act.

Due to the demands of 7 wireless mics on a small stage at such high volumes. A hi spec desk was required to provide EQ on each group. We decided to use the LS-9 as its functionality is excellent and also fitted in to the tight budget of the promoter.

The band on stage are Goldie Looking Chain.
