The Best Songs by Britney Spears (1999-2010)
Princess of Pop
When it comes to Britney Spears there is hardly anything more fun when it comes to pop music. I used to be obsessed with her. (Obvious by my hub...) I would not say at this point in my life I am no longer obsessed but merely a big fan. I absolutely LOVE her music and there are certain songs that just hit me just right. Yes, I'm a guy and I can't help but sing and shake my groove thang when it comes to the pop princess!
I am going to go through my top 5 favorite songs and music videos of Britney Spears. (Years 1999-2010 ONLY ... does not include the songs from the 2011 release Femme Fatale or "Scream & Shout" by Will.i.am feat. Britney Spears)
I will tell you why I enjoy them so much....and what I find so creative and upbeat about them.
I will also post all the videos here too for your enjoyment!
#1 - Oops!...I Did it Again!
Okay! So this was probably Britney's greatest hit ever. I remember when this song first came out. Everyone was singing and dancing to it. One of my friends even got me recorded on tape when I was like 12 dancing to this song. (And hopefully the tape is now lost...) Look, I just CAN'T HELP MYSELF. It just makes me want to dance and it just makes me feel so good! Now check out the video for old times sakes! (You know you want to!!!!)
I thought the music video for this was really creative as well. If there is one thing great about her videos it is the choreography. The fact that you get different shots such as the one when she is in the middle of the floor with a circles of people dancing as they move around on their backs. (This is where she is wearing white.) Also, the red suit is super hot and I just LOVE it when she turns up the heat and brings in the flames. HOT! HOT! HOT!
You see my problem is this...I'm dreaming away...
#2 - Circus
Okay, so this is one of Britney newer tunes that gets me going. Sometimes I listen to it in the morning to get me pumped up! It really does help me wake it. It has a great beat and cool synthetics going on. My favorite phrases in the whole song is:
There's only two types of guys out there
Ones that can hang with me and ones that are scared
So baby I hope that you came prepared
I run I tight ship so beware!
HAHAHA! It's so in your face!
As for the video...what can I say...how can you not get excited when you see Britney slinging a whip!!!! BAM! (She can use that one on me!! ahahahaha!)
Not the best choreography done...but it's enough for me....
#3 - Womanizer!
Okay, I so have to say that this is one of the best BS videos made. The choreography is simply amazing. The fact that Britney keeps teasing him with her dancing..he thinks he is going to get some...but he doesn't.
And okay...SHE'S NAKED and rolling around in a sweaty steam room! (Can it get any better?) Okay, in all seriousness I think if you view this the right way it can be very artistic and just shows the simple beauty of the human body.
If you look at 2:10 into the video...I think that is so cool with all those people rubbing all over themselves. And then at about 3:00 I love the look on the dude's face when she sticks her shoe in his face and they are driving down the highway with like no one driving. lol
And the guy disappears after Britney throws the sheets over him...so basically this music video is as magical as the song!
Man, I feel like a womanizer making all these comments!
#4 - Overprotected
This song has a great message. It's as simple as that. It's all about being yourself and not giving in to what people are saying about you. You should check out the lyrics: Click here to read!
I have to make mistakes just to learn who I am
And I don't want to be so damn protected!
No one is perfect and as an individuals we need time, space, and love!
And to top it all off...it has a great beat!
#5 - ...Baby One More Time
To top off the list I had to include the song that got me into Britney Spears in the first place. I remember the first time I listen to this on tape. One of my friends was listening to it over and over on his tape player and he was like, "you have to listen to this!" And it wasn't long before I traded a Pokemon card for the ...Baby One More Time CD. (All my friends were like...WOW...you got Britney Spears for a stupid pokemon card. lol)
This was my very first CD and I can honestly say that Britney was instrumental in getting me involved so many aspects of music including playing saxophone in the band, piano, and writing my own songs and original compositions.
Thank you Britney and feel free to hit me baby one more time!!!
There you have it!
That's my top 5 list and yet there are so many more great songs to enjoy.
What are your favorites?
Oh, and don't try to trash Britney or I will delete your comments! She has worked really hard to get where she is at and doesn't deserve the negative attention she gets.
