Orchids are Beautiful

I love orchids. Orchids have been a curious flower to me for some time. They seemed way "out of my league" for so long. Things sure have changed over the years. Now orchids are more accessible to more people than ever before, and I think that is a wonderful thing! It also turns out that orchids are not always super difficult to grow. This also is a great thing for flower gardeners everywhere.

As of right now however, I still have yet to own my own orchid. This has not kept me from wanting to keep on photographing one of nature's finest flowers, however. I am a lover of flowers of all kinds, and orchids are of course on that list.

Even though I stated that they are more accessible and affordable for people now more than ever, I am very much in awe of these little wonders of nature. Orchids are like just one of natures little works of art, in the form of a flower. The colors and designs have many ranges.

This hub is a photo gallery of orchid photos that I took both last year and some more recently. I can admit that I don't know much about these orchids, but I can tell you that I am very impressed by the flowers themselves and love to look at them. Often, they are very fragrant as well, which is another thing that I love about orchids. To the orchids that smell pretty, I am even more amazed, as if they needed yet something else to make them the show stoppers they already were!

I will number the photos, in case you want to share with me your favorite orchid that you see here, if you have another comment or question. Don't forget that often you can click on an image and it will be shown a bit larger. If you are like me, you love to see the details! Also, don't forget to note that a couple of the photos have an a couple of thumbnails next to them. There are some pretty orchids there as well, that you won't want to miss, and those all will be numbered also.

Thank you for stopping by my hub which showcases orchids with multiple colors in the flower itself. That is the theme here, multi colored orchid flowers. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do, and that you might keep your eye out for orchids in your own area.

For me, the orchids that I get to view are often in conservatories, which I seek out wherever I go. These include the Colorado Botanical Garden, Missouri Botanical Garden in Saint Louis, the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House, as well as Powell Gardens in Missouri. I want to make a point to mention the Climatron building, another building as well at the Missouri Botanical Garden. You have to look, but you often can find a pretty orchid or two or three there also.

The only other place I have seen orchids is in nurseries, gift shops and also the occasional store like Trader Joe's in Southern California. I purchased the most beautiful orchid there for my father on his birthday last year. He really liked it when I took it to him. For those without a green thumb, I have also noticed a number of nice silk plants that are orchids and they are very lovely as well.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the orchid tour!
