How to Order DVD Movies From Netflix

Updated on August 4, 2015

Ordering Netflix Movies Online Is Easy!

In a never ending quest to simplify my life and save money, I recently came across another brilliant way to make life easier: ordering DVD movies online through Netflix. I had heard about Netflix for awhile now but had sat on the fence about changing my DVD movie rental habits (old habits die hard sometimes, don't they?) Somehow renting DVD movies online just seemed so different from my usual trek to the movie rental store, browsing titles and then returning the movies.

All that changed however one day when my 23 year-old son came over to visit and together we decided to check out Netflix online. After reviewing the Netflix website, I decided to give online DVD movie rentals from Netflix a shot...

The Netflix Website

The Netflix website was easy to navigate. All I had to do was create a user-name and a password and voila - I had my account. Of course I had to give them my credit card information online but with their secure site I felt safe doing this. The next thing I did was choose the DVD movies that I wanted to watch. Then I saved them in my account "queue": After picking enough DVD movies to keep me happy for about a month, I saved those movies. Then I checked off the movies that I wanted to have sent first.

Within 2 days 2 movies arrived at my doorstep in little red and white packages (yes just 2 days, honest!) After mangling one package, I realized that the envelopes were also serving as the return envelopes (kudos to Netflix for their "green use" of packaging) The movies had arrived safe and sound and were ready for my viewing pleasure.

I was really amazed that the DVD movies has arrived so fast from Netflix. Ordering movies online had seemed....well honestly...just a little too good to be true.

Lots of Benefits to Ordering DVD Movies Online With Netflix

The good vibe I was getting from Netflix didn't end there though. After watching my 2 movies I plopped them back in the mail on a Tuesday (another benefit - the postage is paid by Netflix) Amazingly when I checked my email on Wednesday, I had 2 messages from Netflix informing me that they had received the movies and had sent out the next two movies that I had in my "queue". Amazing!!

Sure enough the following day on Thursday, 2 more moves arrived at my doorstep. I could really get used to this!!!

The Benefits of Ordering Online DVD Movies with Netflix:

1. Ordering movies online with Netflix is easy.

2. You save money on gas because you don't have to go to the movie rental store to purchase movies. You also don't need to use more gas to return them (good way to add more "green" to your life and to the environment!)

3. You save time because you are not spending it going back and forth to the store. You don't have to stand there staring at all the movies, trying to figure out what movie to rent next. You can pick your movies out instead from the comfort of your computer screen at home.

4. You save lots of money using the Netflix service. The plan I signed up for is 2 movies as a time - unlimited movies for only $13.99 a month (I can watch as many movies as I want a month) Previously I had been paying almost $5.00 a movie at the local movie rental store. So in just one week I have already watched 3 movies so far and that would have cost me almost $15.00 at the movie rental store plus time and gas.

5.You can spend more quality time with your family and friends (Although not a big movie fan before Netflix, I was looking for an enjoyable way to relax with my family. I have to say sitting down to watch a good movie with some popcorn, snacks and drinks has been a lot of fun. My family loves Netflix too)

So in conclusion if you've been sitting on the fence about trying Netflix I'd say give it a try. Ordering DVD movies online through the Netflix is fast, fun and easy! (and right now they have a 2 week free trial. it doesn't cost you anything if you want to do a test-run first)
