Updated on November 9, 2017

Award season is upon us. From early September, all the way to February, (Although next year it will be held in March) the world waits to see what films will be nominated, and ultimately when big when the Academy Awards air on television. This has been an unusual year so far, as we have some major players in the fantasy, thriller, and sci-fi genre's all generating Oscar buzz. Which films you ask? Just look at "Get Out," "Blade Runner 2049," and "The Shape of Water." Even "Wonder Woman" is being mentioned in there. It is not uncommon for the Academy or other organizations to nominate one film in the fantasy/scifi/horror genre, but to have nearly four is. . . well, like I said, unusual. Look at our predictions down below!
