High School Never Ends Song (Listen While Reading!)

Welcome to Ouran Academy

Ouran High School Host Club is a great series. It is currently an Anime and Manga. The characters are drawn in the Shōjo style, or in a way that is aimed towards girls. Even though it is aimed at girls, the storyline is great for boys too. The story is very in-depth and detailed and each episode follows a storyline that you might need to think about sometimes. The story has lots of pink and roses in it, and some of the parts are close to being considered homosexual, but really all of the characters are straight and it is really a put on for the customers of the club. The focus of the episodes are relationships of people inside and outside of the club, as well as applying satire to stereotypes and click-type mentalities.

Bye Bye 8,000,000 Yen Vase!

Plot

Fifteen year old Haruhi Fujioka is an outstandingly smart student at her local school. Her academic achievements lands her a scholarship to go to the highest authority school in Japan, the prestigious OuranAcademy. One day she was wondering the school to find a place to study where she wouldn’t be bothered and she ended up landing in the Third Music Room, the same place where the Ouran Academy Host Club was currently held. The Host Club is a set of six overly dramatic and attractive male students who gathers together to entertain male and female students. (One male so far was entertained.) It was the clubs first meeting and poor Haruhi breaks an antique vase valued at 8,000,000 Yen. Because of Haruhi’s poor background, she is forced to repay her debts by joining the club. Due to her short hair and overall appearance, the Club believes she is a male student at first. She agrees to dress up like a male in order to pay her debt off. The school houses kindergarten to twelfth grade. Most of the students are from the richest families in Japan, but the unofficial motto of the school is “Lineage counts first, wealth a close second,” meaning students with family backgrounds are put first over rich students with low social status. Throughout the series, the Club partakes in many different topics and different outlooks which over time Haruhi makes them see the world a little more closely then they did at the start of the series.

Haruhi Fujioka

Haruhi Fujioka – a poor but intelligent first-year student to OuranAcademy on a scholarship that requires her rank first in her class. She ends up being nervous at the rich end school and stumbles upon the Ouran Academy Host Club. She breaks an 8 million Yen vase and gets debited into service in the Host Club. She has to then act and look like a boy which soon she realizes she enjoys being with the Club and enjoys acting as a host to other girls, which she takes to naturally though she does not like taking time away from studying and finds the other host members extremely irritating. She is normally quiet and bold but she has a deep fear of thunderstorms. Haruhi lives with her eccentric father who is overly skilled at household chores due to her mothers death at age 5. Her personality is strait forward, clashing with the other members, and she befriends the Hitachiin Twins, which creates a troublesome scenario with the Club King, Tamaki.

Tamaki Suoh

Tamaki Suoh – Seventeen year old Tamaki is a second year student at OuranHigh School and has the duties of being the founder and president of the Host Club. He is a flamboyant and narcissistic boy who is dedicated to his duties as being a host. He fulfills the prince type role to entertain customers. His special talent is playing classic piano music and he plays exceedingly well. Both Tamaki and Honey have stuffed animals. Tamaki is one of the main comic reliefs in the story, being seen as naïve for his age and he views himself as a father figure to Haruhi, when in reality he’s madly in love with her. The whole club often points out his naiveté when it comes for real feelings for Haruhi. A very jellous person to other boys who gets near Haruhi. Tamaki is half-Japanese and half-French and lives with his father, the wealthy superintendent of OuranAcademy. They live away from his mother due to a deal made with Tamaki’s grandmother.

Kyoya Ootori

Kyoya Ootori – Seventeen year old Kyoya is the cunning vice president to the Host Club. Best friends with Tamaki, he is called “Mommy” in reference to Tamaki calling himself “daddy”. Kyoya is secretive and intelligent and without his presence the Club would only be half as successful then it is due to his resourcefulness. He is considered the “cool type” even though he doesn’t put on an act for the girls. He lives with his father, an affluent zaibatsu owner specializing in hospital management. He has two brothers and must surpass them to become his father’s successor. He also has an older sister who cares greatly for him.

Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin

Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin - These identical twins are age 16 and are first year students with Haruhi. These two are mischievous, devious, and childish young men who toy with there classmate, Haruhi. Completely identical they play the “Which one is Hikaru” game with the guests. Only Haruhi can tell them apart when they mess up there hair, there hair is the only way to tell them apart. The brothers one day gave in and game the Host Club a try, and created a bond with Tamaki. Before this, they were cynical to the world around them. The twins show many instances of “brotherly love” which gets girls to fall for them easily. Both falling for Haruhi, Kaoru the nicer and more mature of the twins gives up and lets Hikaru chase his feelings, which in turn combat Tamaki.

Mitsukuni “Honey” Haninozuka

Mitsukuni “Honey” Haninozuka – Hunny is an eighteen year old third year at the academy. Honey is a cake loving childish boy who is much older then his elementary school appearance. Hunny is extremely powerful and the toughest martial arts champion in Japan. In the anime, there is even a talk from the Japan’s Defense Minister to not show his full power in fear other countries will fire missiles at Japan thinking they held a weapon of mass destruction. Hunny is often with his cousin, Mori, who is very close to him. Hunny lives with his father, the owner of a famous dojo and his little brother, Yasuchika, with whom he is often at odds.

Takashi “Mori” Morinozuka

Takashi “Mori” Morinozuka – Age eighteen, Mori is a third year. Mori is a tall, quiet, and intimidating character who is very protective of Hunny. He carries around Hunny on his back. Mori’s protective personality extends to his classmates and the Host Club members resulting in his gaining of a level of respect. As a Host, Mori is the wild type, one who is strong, silent, and less confusing then the rest of the Hosts. He wins girls over by his caring for Hunny, and in turn shyer clients are attracted to him because of his tall physique and taciturn personality.

Umehito Nekozawa

Umehito Nekozawa – Nekozawa is a hooded figure holding a cat puppet named Belzenef. He hates bright lights and points at whoever drags him into light calling them murderers. He is the Black Magic Club’s President and tried to get people to join his club very unsuccessfully. Whoever joins the club gets a free Belzenef doll. His whole idea is if you write someone’s name of the back of the doll they will see many misfortunes with live. Nekozawa is actually a handsome boy under his hood, although he wears a black wig over his normal blond hair and bright blue eyes. The Host Club tried helping Nekozawa be more “friendly” to his little sister and to brave the sun, but Nekozawa was to used to not being in the sun to get over it.
