PBS's Slang Man's World - Children's Televison Review.
Great Tools For Teaching Your Child Another Language.
A couple of weeks ago, PBS premiered their new short-skit television program, Slang Man's World.
This one minute skit airs several times between the afternoon children's program on PBS kids.
With a host of colorful animated characters - in addition to Slang Man himself - this short skit encourages kids to "use your (their) words."
Each day a new word in a different language is introduced (today's words were Yi, Er, San - the Mandarin Chinese words for the numbers One, Two, Three) by way of a short song.
Since the minute skit airs several times; whether it be Russian, Chinese, Spanish and more; it's by way of repetition that children lean new words in a variety of languages.
Kids of all ages would enjoy this short skit of a show, and with daily observing will surely increase their vocabulary exponentially. It's the quickest way to help your child learn a new language.
So if you're looking for a great way to expand your child's vocabulary, and introduce him or her to words from different cultures and backgrounds, then Slang Man's World is the show for you and your child.
Short but effective, Slang Man's World is worth the minute it takes to watch it.
