Pamela Anderson | The Epic Tale of A Woman and Her Breasts

Updated on October 13, 2009

Some days it seems like Pamela Anderson has been around since the dawn of the modern age. Watching the third season of Baywatch (when Pamela made her debut as C.J Parker) is like discovering a time capsule. Some connoisseurs of the show insist that bullet time was not created by the Wachowski Brothers, but rather by the talented Baywatch camera crew, who seemed able to catch every jiggle and bounce with precision that would rival a neurosurgeon.

But who is this Pamela Anderson, and is she really all about her silicone enhanced breasts? Or is there more to this Canadian lass who found her way into the hearts of the American public in a sort of 'stripper next door' kind of way.

Fated For Fame

Pamela's stardom began early in life. She happened to be born at 4.08 am on July the 1st, 1967, the Centennial of Canada. Simply for popping into the world, she was written up in the papers, and her parents were showered with gifts and money. Controversy sprung up when it was revealed that another baby had been born around 2 am, however by that time, the Andersons had already received all the accolades and nobody much cared anymore. Scandal, drama, and fame were part of the package from the get go.

The Playboy Playmate

Prior to landing her roles on Home Improvement and Baywatch, Pamela Anderson scored a role as the February 1990 Playboy Playmate. This could be regarded as the pinnacle of her modeling career, and the harbinger of greater, sexier things to come.

The Sex Tape

It's impossible to mention Pamela Anderson without mentioning that sex tape. After a relative lull in popularity, Pamela shot to fame again in 1998 due to the now infamous sex tape with rocker Tommy Lee, who she married and bore two children to. This relationship ended in divorce after Tommy beat her and ended up sentenced to jail.

Pamela later married the singer Kid Rock. Both of these men are reported to have been abusive and/or violent, so it would seem that Pam has a little trouble with the 'bad boy' bug, like many other women around the world.

A Big Heart

Pam is a strong advocate for PETA, and has done a great deal of stripping on their behalf. (PETA seems to have a knack for getting beautiful women to take off their clothes in order to 'save the animals'. I don't know if the animals are any better off, but I'm betting the people 'behind the scenes' at PETA are.)

She has also been active in other charitable causes, becoming a spokesmodel on behalf of MAC Cosmetics, and working to promote their AIDS Fund. She is also the celebrity spokesperson for the American Liver Foundation.

A Survivor, A Business Woman, A Legend In Her Own Time

Many stars live their lives under the microscope of the media, but few do it to the extent that Pamela Anderson has. Since 1991, she has captured the minds, libidos, and indeed hearts of people across the globe. Many of her choices have been poor, much like any non celebrity, she is a flawed human being. What is impressive about her however, is her resiliency, her drive to keep going and keep working even when life threw major challenges her way. She has publicly suffered through two miscarriages, two divorces, and a period of abuse that many can relate to. However these personal troubles have not stopped her from achieving her career goals. As Pam says: "I'm not an actress. I don't think I am an actress. I think I've created a brand and a business." A brand and business which rival some of the major companies of our time. It's amazing what a blonde with big boobs can do when she puts her mind to it.

"It is great to be a blonde. With low expectations it's very easy to surprise people. " -Pamela Anderson
