Park Bom Reportedly Releasing Debut Solo Album November 2018 with Rumored New Agency
As of Friday, July 20, 2018, many Blackjacks -- fans of the now-disbanded but very popular K-pop girl group 2NE1 -- are rejoicing if recent news pertaining to Park Bom are true. They report that she will be releasing her solo album this coming November at earliest.
The recent news comes via exclusive report through Maeil Business Newspaper, as reported by AllKpop. In it, it reads the aforementioned of Park Bom releasing an album at November at earliest, but also she'll be planning to release an album outside of South Korea.
Park Bom's reported upcoming new album news comes right after the rumors that she recently signed on with new Korean music agency D-Nation Entertainment. Earlier this week, Bom revealed via social media that Scotty Kim is her new boss and producer. She also revealed that Ray Yeom is her new creative director.
It must be noted that D-Nation Entertainment has not officially announced any of their artists. They are in fact a brand, new company. However, the K-pop community is abuzz with theories after Park Bom's official announcements on her social media as well as hints of her comeback. To top it off, D-Nation Entertainment officially opened an Instagram account. Their first post provides a caption that reads too conspicuous despite it being an enigma of a statement.
"Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end!"
Needless to say but K-pop fans, especially Blackjacks, are going crazy over the statement. If you don't know, Park Bom's beginning was as a member of 2NE1. A couple of years ago, 2NE1 officially disbanded after they went into hiatus due to Bom's drug scandal. Eventually, it was revealed that she did not re-sign with YG Entertainment.
Park Bom's career has a chance to be more successful on her own.
For many K-pop fans especially Blackjacks, the fact that Park Bom only made one appearance in the time of her hiatus back in 2014 to disbanding late 2016 to early 2017 is debilitating. That one time, a special appearance during CL's performance at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards (attached below), was worthwhile, but knowing what we know now, that performance is very bittersweet.
To be frank, Park Bom's last two years in YG Entertainment has got to be the worst years of her career. She nearly did nothing, had no social media presence, and it is if YG Entertainment, and that includes its president Yang Hyun-suk, barely did anything to help her. To make it worse, Hyun-suk also blamed Bom is the reason for 2NE1's disbandment.
If Park Bom did indeed sign with D-Nation Entertainment and if she is releasing a new album, this is a chance for her to be better than she was before. Thanks to social media and companies actually caring for their talent, we have seen artists from smaller or new companies succeed, sometimes solo from the popular group or band they previously were a part of. For example, Jessica Jung is now doing well as a soloist to the point many have moved on dwelling on her departure from Girls' Generation. And as for the biggest example presently, look no further than BTS.
If Park Bom did indeed sign with D-Nation Entertainment and she released an album this coming November, would you buy it and support her?
As mentioned earlier, all the details about Park Bom's comeback this coming November may be conspicuous, but it is not confirmed. It is best to follow both Bom and D-Nation Entertainment's official Instagram accounts to find out the latest on these rumors and reports.
