Famous Celebrities Timeline
It’s amazing to notice when seeing that a lot has changed, and time is something people cannot get back. If not doing what is important in life to become successful. Time will gradually show people when things are happening in life because time waits for no one.
Especially, when watching television to watch what the celebrity's are up to. Over time you'll want to know more and will follow their career. It's an exciting obsession to watch often without realizing how much time was spent doing so. After seeing many celebrities have a successful career and as time pass their work is still enjoyable to watch.
Although many celebrities aren't in the public eye as much as before, many people continue to love them today. Besides, a new generation can see the many talented celebrities whenever they want because of technology.
Therefore, seeing children grow up and when the time has passed and just remembering when a child was born is beautiful. However, after a young adult reaches a certain age most parents will notice how much time has passed. Parents who are also considered baby boomers will remember seeing presidents of the United States in office and then will see them go. Just noticing that a year has passed and the New Year is here, now it's 2020.
Life Back then and Now
Anyway, when I was a young girl, I remember seeing President Reagan on television in the eighties and he was also an actor who enjoyed doing both. The world was so different in the 80's, 90's and 2000-2019. Many people who are turning fifty watched television to see what has happened in the past and present.
Many stories at the time was unforgettable for many people watching. Such as seeing Princess Dianna and Charles, having a huge beautiful wedding that was televised and it was one of a kind at the time. I remember watching and I thought her wedding dress was so beautiful. Some memories are unforgettable after watching a royal wedding that was never seen in person. Now her sons are grown, and they went on to get married too.
The Cosby Show
I also remembered watching the Cosby Show and I think I’ve seen every episode from when the show came out in 1984-1992. I was still watching reruns in my twenties, I loved watching the Cosby Show.
Surprisingly, after what has happened to Bill Cosby in recent years, I didn’t expect that Bill Cosby would be going through issues in court and the television dad wasn’t seen the same to people watching. Many young people loved watching him as if he was a man who couldn’t do anything wrong. Now all that glorification is gone for Bill Cosby.
Micheal Jackson in the 80's
Furthermore, I loved watching Michael Jackson when he came out with the thriller video and many of his music videos I had to watch. I remember my family and I were excited to see music videos on our little television and whatever Michael Jackson was doing at the time was an exceptional talent to watch. I also enjoyed watching him do the moonwalk for the first time on an award show that millions of people were watching. Even though, we had to try to make the antenna work properly, it was a little frustrating to watch if the antenna wasn't working right and sometimes we'll use a hanger to see the TV better.
I thought he was a fascinating entertainer. I even had many of Michael Jackson's buttons that all the girls were going crazy over. His face was on many buttons and the teenage girls and boys were wearing them. The buttons were being worn on their jackets, shirts and down their pants legs. It was a extremely crazy Michael Jackson time and when he came out with the music video “Beat It,” Michael Jackson could do no wrong either and everyone loved him.
Micheal Jackson in the 90's
Until times changed and then he was accused of child molestation in the early nineties. No one knew if the accusation was true or not. He said he didn’t do whatever was being said, but people saw him differently. Although he’s gone, I still love Michael Jackson. He was the first entertainer I saw that was mesmerizing and I didn’t care about all the plastic surgeries he had on his face and nose either.
He also had vitiligo and that didn’t change what I thought of him even now. He has done a lot for people around the world when he donated a lot of his money for people living in poverty.
He was always singing about what was happening in life. He also inspired a lot of artists I see today and they continue to be inspired online and offline. He even had Michael Jordan in one of his videos called “Jam” it was fun to watch him and Michael Jackson because people love Michael Jordan Too.
Micheal Jordan in the 90's
Michael Jordan is a phenomenal basketball player who has moves that only he does so great. I never saw someone who makes playing basketball look so simple.
Young people also love Michael Jordan but many youths weren't even born at the time he was playing. Still they love his amazing looking sneakers that people purchase and wear every day.
Especially, when back to school is approaching and the students would go back to school wearing everything with Michael Jordan's name on it. The shirts, hoodies, backpacks, and anything with the Jordan name on it makes a lot of young people happy, to represent Michael Jordan's name. Also, Michael Jordan's clothing and sneakers look great together.
The middle school students and high school students love to check out the newest sneakers that are coming out. When my kids were growing up they wouldn't accept not having a pair of Jordan's for school. I love Michael Jordan's merchandise for the youth to wear because they look nice in the clothing he sells.
Janet Jackson in the 80's
I also loved watching Michael Jackson's sister Janet Jackson. I love the music video control; she had a lot of energy in that video. She was growing as a person and Janet wanted the world to know that she wanted more control in her own life. I felt the same way, I thought I could accomplish more with my life too.
She made so many music videos and many people were inspired by her, and people liked her sense of style. Even though she's older now, I still watch her music videos sometimes. Besides, I loved her tribute to her brother Michael after he died. It must have been extremely hard to have a good performance without crying and she stayed strong through it all.
Whitney Houston in the 80's
Besides many singers are talented solo artists and Whitney Houston was a singer in a category all by herself. So many people love listening to Whitney Houston and her music was on the radio often. I didn't mind hearing her music because her voice was like no other I've ever heard.
She had many songs I still listen to from the eighties that can be heard right now. Many songs she was singing are classic, like the song "I will always love you," it is one of my favorite songs. Only she can sing that song the way she does. Also I like "I Wanna Dance with Somebody." It was a fun song and she looked happy in that video too and her music will always live on.
Mariah Carey in the 90's
Another singer I admire is Mariah Carey she has a lot of hit songs too. Many people still listen to her classic Christmas music around the Christmas season. Also, she was always trying new music with many different artists who collaborated with her to make her music sound fresh and new as the years past. She wasn't afraid to try new sounds and fashion when making new music videos.
Over time, I was watching until realizing the nineties was approaching. The clothes were changing, and the music videos were changing. I remember looking around and people just wanted to wear black and white poke a dots. A lot of young people wanted to look like people in music videos. It was a time when fashion was becoming more noticeable because the clothes looked colorful. Sometimes shiny and there were a lot of African garments being worn and headpieces. Many of the looks were cultural, but I don't see the culture looks as much anymore.
It seems as if people were experimenting with new looks from head to toe. The women wore clothing more than they do today. Also, I learned how to look for many different looks I like to try, just from watching a music video. Many women aren't wearing much of anything anymore. I feel at my age I’m not interested in copying any new looks from music videos because I like being covered up. I can feel sexy with beautiful clothes on instead.
Prince in the 80's
Anyway, I began watching Prince more often in the nineties more than the eighties. I thought he looked fascinating in all his unique and interesting clothing. I like watching his stage presence and the music he has written was original and extremely creative.
He seems so different than many of the other superstars I was watching. He was evolving with his music and his music videos. Eventually, he was Prince and the New Power Generation. It was completely different than Prince and the Revolution, he was a talented man who will always be in class all by himself. I think he’s one of a kind who can never be duplicated and many teenage girls thought he was a sexy looking man who was interesting to watch.
Madonna in the 80's
Furthermore Madonna was fashionable when I saw her for the first time on TV and a lot of girls copied her looks in the eighties. They loved the lace look and many girls wore the lace gloves too. She just had everything on that was lace and the new style was unique. I thought it was a sexy look, but I only wore the lace scarf around my head, when I wanted to wear my hair out sometimes.
I think Madonna was great at changing her looks and people try to always copy. She would change again, but people would continue to emulate her. I also still listen to her music today, I think she inspired people to try to be different. She wasn't afraid to be who she wants to be in her life and whatever she did people would talk about her a lot.
She was controversial to people who didn't always approve of what she was doing in the public eye. Even in the nineties, she was always keeping people interested in wanting to see what she was going to do next.
Today's Millennials Generation
Today, young individuals watch a lot of different people on YouTube, on cell phones and TV. They have a choice to watch people who aren't famous but are doing other things. Many people online are just trying to have an audience and the millennials are completely different than older people who are considered baby boomers.
Sometimes they have no clue what people over the age of fifty are talking about. They don’t seem to always be interested in what has happened in the past. Unless learning information in high school or college or going online to search on their own time. Often, they don’t want to hear older people say, back in my day this is how things were.
Many millennials do know about popular celebrities in the past and many celebrities are still living. They share their knowledge and made changes in the world. Some celebrities have different foundations, and donate funds for research or will speak about an issue that they will like to see changed. Some celebrities help the youth get a better education if they want to go to college and don’t have any funds to go. Although, many of them prefer to have fame and fortune instead but they are beginning to realize what is going on with young celebrities who are leaving the earth to soon.
Millennials and Social Change
Besides many issues has to change because it isn't getting any better. Such as rapping about drug addiction, alcohol addiction or gun possession.
Many young adults are doing anything possible to get rich and famous. Time has changed and to see it happen gradually is life experiences. Just seeing what has changed in the world and with people is extraordinary. Therefore, when people say life is precious, it really is.
