Professional Entertainment - Let Them "Pop Steady"

Updated on July 9, 2024

Guests Should Become Unstressed

When you’re throwing a party, the purpose is for your guests to have a very good time. They are to come and cut lose a bit. It’s their chance to relax and exercise to some motivating music. If you want people to be relieved of stress, problems or just a pretty bad day then have some funky music for them. Don’t let them sit around just drinking, eating and socializing.

Good Funky Music Is Boisterous

They need to release by dancing. There is no such thing, as “I can’t dance.” Make sure there is adequate room for dancing like a specific dance floor area. A party or even a small gathering deserves a live band or a knowledgeable DJ (Disk Jockey) a DJ is needed even when a live band takes breaks. The host can’t walk around trying to keep people from being bored or breaking the ice of the guests. Music with positive and optimistic messages has better influences and drives for the emotions. Gatherings are supposed to be uplifting. Up-tempo songs should be played more than slow songs. If slow songs are played then they should have a positive message.

Have A Variety Of Music

A DJ can heighten the crowd and lower it at anytime. You can tell the DJ how you want it to go plus guest may want to request certain songs. With technology and Internet a DJ can put a song off the web and let the people have a wing-dang-doodle of a dancing time.

No Negative Vibe Songs Allowed

Unless a song is requested the DJ should not play any negative vibe songs even if it’s a going home (repast) celebration.

No need for songs about being hurt or taking somebody else’s mate J. You may have guests that are on the verge of breaking up or something, here I want to promote funk music. If you play a lot of that even though it is old school it is still captivating and memorable. What also makes a good jam is when get the part started. No need to push anyone to dance a bit. However, ninety-nine and a half percent of the people should have rhythm. There should also be there to teach people to dance who are interested or have dance starters. Enclosed are a couple of my dance grooves with messages to enjoy the party by:

Get The Party Started

Hey, hey, hey

Pop steady is what you do

When you’re feeling down

When you’re down

Remember popping steady

Takes you to higher ground

(Don’t let it take you out)

Don’t let it take you out

Just have a little faith

It will pull you through

(Pop steady’s all about)

The faith you have in you

If you keep it you can’t lose,

If you wanna groove

Let your body move

Pop steady

If you are in doubt

Turn it all about

Pop steady,

If you wanna move

Change your attitude

Pop steady,

If you’re feeling down

Check this boogie sound

Pop steady,

Hey, hey hey

Pop steady is just a way

To relieve your mind

A-n-y-t-i-m-e ,

you feel the wait of pressure

Pop steady and you’ll be fine,

Just hold your head up high

Keep reaching for the sky,

Pop steady is the way

Pop steady every day,

If you wanna groove

Let your body move

Pop steady,

If you are in doubt

Turn it all about

Pop steady,

If you wanna move

Change your attitude

Pop steady,

Pop steady pop steady

Pop steady pop steady

Pop steady pop steady

Pop steady pop steady

Pop steady pop steady

The Writing of This Song

When I co-wrote this one I was in a party popping mood. I just wanted to let go. So, I told co-writer, the bass player (Lee Gatlin) of the group Maxx Traxx to give me a pop/funky song with music that I could write to so, he gave me this one and they recorded it.
