Play By Play

For his second time as an Emmy host, the hilariously funny Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) opened the show, but this time he had help. Previous Emmy presenters took Neil to school on how to host the Emmys. Jimmy Fallon, Jane Lynch and a few others hopped on stage to give Neil some hosting tips and to remind him that he won’t be there next year. Of course, Neil shared musical numbers that wowed and delivered punch lines that floored. The tributes to those who passed this year were filled with sincerity and was incredibly heartfelt. James Gandolfini’s tribute, given by Edie Falco, was sentimental and touching as well as the others who were honored.

And The Winners Are...

The speeches on stage this year were received with big laughs. Merrit Wever was nominated by Neil for having the best award speech; it was short and straight to the point. Something no one was expecting. Michael Douglas received the most laughs as he shared half his Emmy with fellow actor Matt Damon.

Now, for what we’ve all been waiting for; here are some top 2013 Primetime Emmy Winners!
